Yes, “Crying to the Sky” is an amazing song, and amazing guitar.
U2 - The Joshua Tree - 1987
After seeing them five years earlier I kinda thought they were ‘old hat’ by this stage. You learn a lot once you leave uni.
Great record!
I enjoy the tracks where the band stretch out and expand the songs, which is untypical of the original foursome. It is also superbly recorded, but that could be down to post production. But likewise, I enjoy it from time to time.
One of my favourite Van albums , doesn’t get mentioned much but I play it quite often
The two lengthy tracks are amazing and to have two on one album is incredible.
The Mystery Jets - Radlands
One of those records that hits the spot. I
Love songs about records. The track Greatest Hits has great lyrics:
“You can take The Lexicon of Love away
But I’m keeping Remain in Light
You can take away It’s A Shame About Ray
But I’m holding on to Country Life
Well you can keep No Need To Argue and I’ll keep The Aeroplane Over The Sea
But hold on to The Boy With The Arab Strap
'Cause I’m holding on to Village Green”
Maria Taylor – Lynn Teeter Flower
CD | 2007
Folk rock. Yet another one haven’t heard in a long while.
Just nowhere near the first. Tepid retreads of pseudo Motown. Tour was disappointing too.
An excellent LP, don’t think that there is a bad track on it, especially Down Down which provided Quo with their only No 1 Single.
Funnily enough, neither of them have appeared on the over 10 minutes epic songs thread?
