She was a great singer, indeed.

My mum and dad must have worn a few needles out on the Hitachi music centre in the 70’s playing The Carpenters on repeat.

It’s had a lasting effect, but agree she does have a beautiful voice.

Beth Orton - Central Reservation

I know I’ve not played this for something like 20 years, but what a fine album it is. Worth revisiting.

Great album! Enjoy.

Her latest from a year or two ago is a real return to form.

Sorry but I have to disagree, I have no knowledge of what may or may not offend you or anyone else, I would try to apply some common sense when posting but that is no guarantee that something I post won’t offend someone.

If the album has been released and sold in the UK then for me it should be acceptable to post here, if something is deemed to have crossed a line then the post can be flagged and the moderators can decide, I’ll happily follow their advice.

Again, we’ll have to agree to disagree.

Virgin Killer (original, banned by the authorities) and Lovedrive by The Scorpions are/were sold in the UK but I won’t post the covers on this forum, others might. Maybe it’s being overly prudeish, but I think Lovedrive is really sexist?

Whats your impressions of Steve Wilson’s Remix ?

I just have a copy of the original on vinyl and like many I did struggle with it.But recently I made a point of playing it in it’s entirety and really enjoyed it.A little over indulgent on some sides and Jon Anderson’s lyrics are a bit weired but Yes being Yes they were always trying to move the music on from the previous album.

I remember on a Yes documentary I watched recently Chris Squire said it was great in places but lost its way in others. To much material for a single album, but to much padding for a double.

Rick Wakeman hated it except
for Ritual - Nous Somme Du Soleli which he said should have been expanded on and was a piece of sheer beauty.
Alan White said that its still their best back catalogue seller.

Has always been a favourite of mine Ian.
I have 3 different copies on my Nucleus, the SW Remix being the most recent.

It is very good and I am really enjoying it. I am expecting the same UHQ CD SW Remix release of Relayer from Japan later this month too.

Sonically it is really clean and is definitely a better listen than my original Vinyl copy, but I will always love that copy too.

From the back cover - “CAN SOUNDTRACKS is the second album of THE CAN but not album no. Two.” I love the combination of tracks featuring both Malcolm Mooney and Damo Suzuki on vocals. The absolute shining star for me though is Mother Sky, one of my favourite tracks of all time.
