What are you listening to in 2026 and why might anyone be interested?

My pleasure Graeme.

Never heard that album Andy
How do you rate it ?
I have most of their 1970 's albums and like them a great deal especially Scherazade And other Stories.Annie Haslam had a superb voice and vocal range.
A superb band but fall under alot of peoples radar as they just remember them for Northern Lights.
Which was a shame as their albums are all very good.

It is really a different band from the Annie Haslam incarnation but in terms of music it is what you might expect as a debut album for the sound they would eventually achieve.

I use the Rateyourmusic site as my goto reference and in terms of relativity I think the comparative ratings of each album are spot on.

I have all their albums up to Camera Camera.

Thanks Andy for the reference to Rateyourmusic. Just doing a quick check. It aligns with my choices and will be very helpful going forward. :+1:

Scott Walker - Scott 4 - 1969

‘Scott 4 was released by Philips Records on 7 November 1969 in the United Kingdom. The album failed to chart and was deleted soon after.’

Seems hard to believe, but no shortage of really great albums out that year? Abbey Rd, Zeps I&II, Tommy, Let It Bleed, In The Court …. etc.

Songs like Boy Child on this album are beautiful, but something of a by-gone era even in ‘69?

Given up trying to buy a mains block and listening to this instead.

Melody Gardot, suggested on the forum.

Very relaxing.

Impressions of Samos by Greg Foat and Sokratis Votkos with the Giorgos Pappas Trio. I played this quite a bit over the weekend and opted for the Vinyl which arrived yesterday. A mixture of jazz and world music with a strong Eastern Europe / Middle Eastern vibe.

Guten Tag, This Is Bureau B - Various Artists (2015). Sampler of the Bureau B label’s output. Some well known names (Eno, Rodelius, Harald Grosskopf, Lloyd Cole). I love German electronica.
