Yes- Fragile - 1971
Some belated appreciation of Roger Dean’s artwork, oh, along with some fine prog rock of course.
Mountain | Climbing | Uniti Core. Brings back happy memories. Still sounds great, of course. And what an opener.
I remember you getting a first edition copy from a charity shop for a £1 what a result ![]()
Is that the one ?
Its a great album and the foundation for taking it up a level on Close To The Edge and Tales From Topographic Oceans.
Hope all is well Steve.
Gray is getting very chilled to some fine Dub Reggae from the master King Tubby
King Tubby - I am The King
Evening Ian, yes that’s the one, a surprise find in Warminster of all places!
Hope all is well
Steve
First of the evening, as I keep an eye on the football transfer deadline action
Neil Young. On the beach.
“See the sky about to rain “ one of his most beautiful songs imo. Elsewhere some of his angriest and despairing.
Boards Of Canada - The Campfire Headphase - 2005
An inevitable mini-'Boards-o-thon seems to have transpired …
Mountain | Nantucket Sleighride | Uniti Core. Love everything about this album including the wonderful cover art.
I’ve never found bands with the same or similar names to be suspicious personally and feel as with big commercial brands generally it would be pretty sad if a successful band could block or challenge smaller groups especially if they were in other countries and were using standard words/phrases.
I started watching Barbarella on Prime the other night having not viewed it for many years and it did make me wonder if Duran Duran were ever challenged for their band name in any way.
Waxahatchee - Saint Cloud - 24/96 FLAC
Classy indy rock/alt country, lovely singing and guitar playing.
Sweet Thursday - Sweet Thursday
Second division supergroup. A list of all whom these guys played with would fill the Albert Hall.
Jon Mark from the brilliant Mark-Almond. Alun Davies and Harvey Burns notably from Cat Stevens’ band. Legendary Nicky Hopkins and bass player Brian Odgers who played on some great albums for Elton John, Al Stewart and Serge Gainsbourg.
From 1969 an album that on paper should have been a classic. But all in all is not too bad.
