Patate e Roast beef.
That looks delicious!
Lovely. Not a bloody green thing in sight.
A lighter meal after yesterdays roast, stir fried chicken and salad, guacamole and salsa. Before rolling up.
On Sunday there was a festive menu for four people. As a starter there was curry corn cream soup with Argentinian prawns and butter croutons. The second course was beef tartare from Campo Beef. The main course was fillet of Campo Beef prepared sous vide with pumpkin puree. Unfortunately I wasn’t hungry for dessert…
Unexpected largesse from the daughter.
From her allotment… spuds, tomatoes and purple sprouting broccoli…Oh some of those sausages you like from the Bijou sausage shop.
This dear reader is unnatural behaviour. I thanked her and waited.
It seems as my too large house is never overly warm she would like to commandeer her old bedroom (she is 56 years old) to store her tropical garden plants so they do not get nipped by the frost.
So should I be lucky enough to capture an old granny one Friday night…
Sorry the bed is behind the banana tree, that’s right just in front of the strelitzias.
Lovely but where’s the mash for the calves liver?
I had Shepard pie last night. So had enough of roughage just now.
Another veggie tray bake… celeriac, plum tomatoes and chipotle chilli. Accompanied by a crisp green salad and an ‘ok’ red.
Just finished cooking tonight’s Chilli, now resting it😋
Pan-fried fillet of plaice with samphire, new pots and a butter, lemon and parsley sauce. Served with a fab Riesling Trocken from Donnhoff
Feeling a bit under the weather.
My inner Dr wanting big time to prescribe me this.
Cooked up a proper chicken stock. Along with my best San Marzano tinned tomatoes for a soup.
Chicken thighs marinated in basil, garlic and lemon - grilled and sliced on top.
With some toasted sourdough.
Mmm. Feeling a bit better now.
Oh yes
Cod and potato pie served last evening with potato wedges and runner beans.
Thought of posting on the “cod Philosophy” thread, but maybe not
It’s autumn which can only mean one thing - roasts! Friends over so cooked roast beef with all the trimmings ( which means veg + Yorkshire puds + cauliflower cheese). For some reason my Yorkshire pud looked like one of those mutant invasive crabs that everyone is worrying about but everyone else’s looked fine
My wife said she fancied an apple pie like her mum used to make so my first attempt at homemade apple pie with my own shortcrust pastry ( and it was bloody lovely!)
I am not an eater of red meat , however your apple pie is absolutely splendid !
