A local pilsener, nice to see some of the craft beer makers producing something other IPA/XPAs.

Uley was off at the Woolpack last night; these were some of the alternatives. Tried both - wish I hadn’t.

Mild….you don’t see that very often these days, more’s the pity.

Mild was the predominant drink in Birmingham and the Black Country so there is a tradition.

Along with a pint of ‘twos’ … half mild half bitter…

Used to drink that in London as a teenager - we called it ‘a pint of mixed’.

Surprisingly refreshing

I spent quite a bit of time in Albrighton and Shifnal in the mid '80s and early '90s and enjoyed many a pint of Banks Mild.

Mild was also big in the North West at one time. Some of the breweries in Lancashire and Greater Manchester still brew it, but it can be hard to find these days.

I’ve also enjoyed some of the West Midlands milds, especially Holdens Mild and Bathams mild.

Does just the job with a couple of cheese and crackers, with some hot pickles.
