What is your power cord?

You need to start somewhere step by step going up to the hill

Absolutely. Perhaps UK is different, but dedicated mains in France doesnā€™t impact always in better sound. A lot have tried here and heard no improvement, other heard a subtle difference. But could see the bill in their bank account :open_mouth:

I guess I have more opportunities for splitting the power. Here in rural France I already have to balance 3 phases across the house. The main hifi system sits on one phase with most of the kitchen equipt! Luckily I can and have split that to a separate spur to the hi fi, but there are still 2 electric rads on that same spur. Listening in summer is fine though

I buy according to the available options I can listenā€¦not every device in the world has the proximity to listen ā€¦ In the existing circumstances I try to purchase what I likeā€¦ sometimes my decision are good, and sometimes less

This is why audiophile fuses make such a shocking difference, the Sarum power cord is dawn good but vs a Ā£130 fuse its poor VFM.

Now if you combined both ā€¦

A Shunyata Alpha XC v2 in to my Shunyata Hydra Alpha A10 Power Conditioner. Brilliant - despite Initially being a sceptic the result is spectacular.

Thatā€™s what Iā€™m trying to figure out currently; if simply adjusting the distribution across the phases can provide the enough separation from noisy appliances. A dedicated circuit is not so easy to take from the basement to the 3rd floor of a concrete construction - if there is no space in existing conduit itā€™s not so straight forward to install.

Yes 3rd floor can be a problem. I was fortunate enough to need to update the distribution board from old wire fuses to a newer rcb type. I could then re-arrange the phases and with a cellar underneath the house I managed to run a new supply and put in a second board. Although I have also rebalanced the upstairs supply I would have struggled to chase in a new conduit/gaine to French regs.

In Sweden we normally have three phases. My electrician measured them when with all stuff engaged (e.g. water boiler, hair dryer, owen, stowe, etc) and then selected the least used (normally the third phase) for the hifi. I installed the dedicated circuit on that phase but maybe you can deduct which upstairs outlet which is best?

I think thatā€™s what I will end up having go to do - just arrange it so the upstairs sockets are on the least used (or least noisy) phase. Will see what the sparky says but I suspect a dedicated circuit will be a major undertaking.

The right place to start - a dedicated line and a good outlet.
Believe me, their cost is less than a quarter of the cost of the CHORD MUSIC.
Not to mention, a significant improvement, of the noise floor, in a serious system, like yours.

But I bought also expensive ears from the Creator of the world(god) ā€¦and I hear what this cable does :grinning: :grinning: :grinning: :grinning:

Noise on the grid which often is DC from air conditioning, hair driers, LED, dimmers, fridge, whatever with a motor in it is also possible to remove even more simple with a DC Blocker. Highly recommended. I had electricians here moving stuff around on the phase block but what solved it all was this DC blocker from Supra which I paid 200 EUR for.

Acrolink Mexcel PC9700. Currently used on Luxman L-590AXII. This cord changes everything. My next aspiration is the PC8100 but that will have to wait.

Very expensive must be worth to purchase acrolink mexcel pc8100

Although itā€™s quite costly, the price is relatively cheaper than the ultra-expensive power cables out there. Acrolink is a Japanese company and they are rather honest and open about their product line and technology incorporated into the design of their cables, and most importantly they sound exceptional. The PC8100 is currently out of my budget but will try to source for a used one if available. At some point of time I will try the Mexcel cord with the Naim but I am not sure when I will make the switch as the current setup sounds very good and enjoyable.

Hope your Chord Music will give you great satisfaction and result. I would agree with the earlier poster to sort out the mains and also the socket at the wall (if applicable) as they will greatly affect the sound too. Otherwise you may not get the full potential of the Chord Music.

Nice to see someone else who
ā€œgets itā€ My new Shunyata Denali 6000/S v.2 arrives tomorrow !!! I have the previous generation Shunyata Alpha EF for wall to unit.

Praise God
But as part of his creation, he also gave you the ability to distinguish-in a blind test, between MUSIC / SARUM / SIGNITURE on your system?
Iā€™m sure he is not!
I mean - you have to go to the base and not find expensive and ineffective solutions.
Happy&healthy New Year.

You sound very angry with meā€¦next time before I will think to do a step ahead I will ask your professional adviceā€¦in the meantime I already had Chord Music so I will not throw it out of the window
