Sadly, This Is Not A Drill blu ray is 1080p not 4k
Are you sure, because if you watch that little YouTube clip above until the end, it says mastered in 4K Ultra HD?
At 1:20 in to the video…
Yes, check out sites that mention anything about the resolution. Also, I bought it at the weekend and ripped it to mp4 to store on my NAS and 1080p is as good as it gets. Apparently it was filmed in 8k so rather disappointing the blu ray is 1080p. Very good 1080p though it has to be said
I guess a 4K disc would be a lot more expensive, so a decision was probably made from a marketing perspective to only go with the regular 1080p Blu-ray disc for sales volume.
Probably more of a case of how many people have 4k blu ray players compared to regular players.
My Roger Waters was £24.99 from Amazon, which is regular 4K disc price. But it is indeed only standard bluray…not what I was expecting when I ordered. I feel mildly ripped off.
“Dead Horse” is the best description of the Animals album I’ve come across.
Picked this up in the recent Warner Music Australia sale so will be good to see how it compares to the previous concert Blu-ray discs from the Eagles.
Not sure what the BR audio of Black & White Night is like (mine copy is still sealed) but the DVD, which I also have, comes with a separate 24/96 LPCM DVD-Audio as well.
I just moved this weekend, so all my discs are still boxed up. Meaning I can’t easily grab it to look at the audio options. I remember being very pleasantly surprised how good it sounds, which is why I play it quite often.
The Blu-ray disc stereo track is 24/96 and it sounds excellent, the video quality is also superb.
Many thanks - I’ll have to open it!
Been waiting to get this in a JB HiFi sale which now happened for the Australian Fathers Day Weekend.
Also, this from the Australian Rock Icons for their 50th Anniversary.
People need to check them out on Online Streaming, they are very good and one of Australia’s greatest bands.
I’ve really been enjoying this. There are some nice nuanced versions of various songs and the “doom” version of Comfortably Numb is really good.
Video quality is really very good, but the sound quality is even better - reference stuff.
Play it loud.
Watched This Is Not A Drill tonight - very impressive.
The stereo track is Hi-Res 24/48 and the sound is fantastic.
An earlier post said the concert was filmed with 8K camera’s so the 1080p video on the disc comes from a very high quality source and my 4K Blu-Ray Player upscales the video to 4K and the resultant picture quality is superb.
All in all an absolutely brilliant concert experience.
Picked this up at the Secondhand Music Shop, its quite rare apparently.
The Cars were a fantastic band and this disc set is very impressive.
Just bought these all cheap of the local web site, $34 for the lot, including postage. Advertised as second hand, but the Who plus guests double DVD was taped and looks new. I’ve only played the Eagles one so far, sound and performance is great. I’ve put them in the space saver sleeves already. Really enjoying finding these old quality recordings, which are really good value.
They are all excellent concerts, you will really enjoy them, plus you got an absolute bargin for them.
Having just Pre-Ordered the Journeyman Deluxe Edition CD which will be released on 21 November with four extra tracks, I thought I would watch this DVD from that Clapton era.
Journeyman is my favourite Clapton album so a re-release with extra tracks from the same recording sessions was a no brainer.
