Wasn’t Beatrice just fab in Betty Blue?

Didn’t she also appear in the terrific French series “Call My Agent”?

Loved “Diva” as well, have the soundtrack here on vinyl from many years ago.

It uses HMP Technology

Yes for the two questions. Betty Blue is “ 37,2 C le matin “

The weakest album from their 1980s peak period IMO but the extras are really good, most of it has only been available on crappy bootlegs and poor quality VHS. Out January.

I’m looking forward to this reducing to a sensible price, until then I’ll make do with a download!
Have pre-ordered the vinyl release for next year though.

Interesting Kev, growing up in Manchester through the 80’s and early 90’s was a great time to be young as the music scene was exploding and the city had a great vibe, oh, and the Hacienda! :grinning:

Following all the speculation and kerfuffle over the Verve By Request reissue of Alice Coltrane Ptah The El Daoud this VMP series will include it too

Out on 2 December for a mere £615.

Interesting, but will be taking a pass given the price.

But, that’s still only £7.69 a single! :sunglasses:

Do you ever get the feeling we’ve been milked for the every last dollar (or pound). With all these remastered/reissued/remixed releases I kind of think they’re getting the last drop out of us baby boomers before we’re in nursing homes or dead.

Of course knowing this hasn’t stopped me from buying the damn things.

I have said as much to Mrs Q very recently.
Mr Paige has become a “MASTER” of driving that particular “Gravy Train”, but plenty of bands cashing in of late.
I must admit, I am waiting for the Blondie box set release😂

Yep, and it’s not only the remasters etc it’s all the other secondary crap that is being dug out of back rooms somewhere

Bordering on poor bootleg quality , when I see them advertised I put the brakes on

I think streaming these special editions before purchase has reduced the number of reissues I have been buying.
Couldn’t resist Revolver yet again though.

You’re right but it didn’t (or hasn’t) stopped me from buying remixes/remasters of my big four, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Bowie snd Lou Reed.

Neil Young hit a very rich vein of form at around the time of ‘Eldorado’, so that has to be good news.

A nine cd deluxe set of Robert Palmer’s Island albums is being released by Edsel on February 17th next year. Always felt that his back-catalogue hasn’t been given the treatment it deserved. The set has been remastered with no rarities or unreleased tracks and at £85 I think I might give it a miss.

Craft are releasing “The Healer” next month. Any thought’s on if this is AAA, I presume it’s cut from digital?

I’ve just had a look at the CD, but it’s not clear if it was recorded on digital or analogue equipment. It says it was mastered by DADC in Austria if that helps, but the tracks were recorded in a number of different studios in 1989 and I’ve no idea if they were all digital by then. It sounds quite good, so maybe it was all digital? I’ll have a listen later to see if I can hear any tape hiss.
