What’s the last movie you saw in the cinema

Rotten Tomatoes had it in the B+ category , I certainly thought out of Dune, Deadpool and it, that it was by far the best of the three,

Ridley Scott’s vision of the mining colony gave what followed an awful lot of perspective

Interstellar at my local iMax on Friday evening. Really enjoyed it on the big screen! As did both my grown up kids.

Same as, last week. Much more interesting than when on the TV…

I want to put warning notice up before you continue reading as some people on here have a delicate disposition towards negativity. So no complaints as I have warned you.

I have just returned from watching the new Joker movie and what a load of tripe. It’s definitely my worst movie of the year.
I go on a regular basis and last week I saw Lee which I would say is my favourite movie of the year.

Couldn’t make the times it was shown at , I think it was reasonably successful for Sky

A beguiling languid Icelandic/Japanese film about life choices - a tad over romantic maybe. Beautifully shot whether it be recreating early 70s Soho or in modern day Tokyo.

If you like rocksteady/roots reggae a very good documentary about the rise and fall and possible re-emergence of the UKs first reggae band the Cimarons Harder Than the Rock

Blitz - worth seeing although McQueen tries to shoehorn too many themes in to be entirely coherent. The boys picaresque journey at the centre of the drama is a tad schmaltzy. CGI blitzed London shots and scenes are epic and the camera just loves the little lad in the lead role.

Really enjoyed seeing this again. Looks and sounds pretty fresh in IMAX. 50 years old this year. A proper classic!

Went to the cinema yesterday to watch this as my wife said the book was very good.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and have to say Ralph Fiennes was brilliant.

Nosferatu with William Dafoe and Lilly Rose Depp

The adverts preceding it were for road safety, the trailers were all the shocks for horror films that were coming, my nerves were shredded by the start

Very good , lots of rats but probably /hopefully better treated than on the Werner Herzog

Conclave was my movie of last year followed by Lee. Both very good. Conclave played out like a spy movie or high end chess game.

Thought the road safety one was rather good, nice twist. Aside from a few predictable jump scares, the film itself was not that scary I thought. Did your show have the trailer for Presence? … that looks like it would give me nightmares

Yes it did show that trailer, I did find Nosferatu very creepy and scary - especially in the opening half hour or so.

A Real Pain - Kieran Culkin and Jesse Eisenberg.

We were the only two in the cinema at Peterborough for the 1220 showing.

Cousins go to Poland on a holocaust tour and to see their grandmothers house.

There’s something about these two and the story that caught our attention. Really pleased to see it in a cinema, no matter how empty. You had to cncentrate, whereas at home you can get distracted by many other things.

Overall a film that was funny, touching and thought provoking.
