Is your NAT02 chrome bumper HH ?
Because I use internet radio , I prefer CD and indeed Blu Ray and vinyl , quite happy to let Tidal etc go their own way . I have a recently serviced CDX2 which gives me a digital signal into the Nova and I am very happy
The streaming (I do) of actual material is from Sky Cinema .
I as most others (all as far as I’ve seen) have found it to improve the sound quality yes. There are some discussions over at the Roon forum on this too. If you use Roon only I recommend giving it a go
It’s not.
Just bought on eBay today. Was bought new by the owner 9 years ago from my Naim dealer in Düsseldorf. So no fake. For less than €400. I’m curious to see how it works at Nova. A little bet without test.
It’s a significant uplift .
I hope so because today i use already the Audioquest z3
Well considering I sold the Lumin U2 mini and bought a ND5XS2 that might answer your question. However, my gripe was more with the UI than anything else - the Naim app is so much more intuitive, feature rich and user friendly.
The Lumin app is horrible. You must use Roon or native apps from Tidal or Spotify. I don’t see the Naim app as needed these days with tidal/Spotify connect or Roon.
An external power supply on the U1 Mini moves it close to U1 in performance. Major upgrade as most often separating power from the rest.
We barely use the naim app (unless I’m taking screenshots for the “what are you listening to” thread ). As long as our new transport is standards compliant and hence the vast majority of third party apps can stream to or control it, then SQ is the most important aspect.
Really hoping to find reviews of U2 mini with upgraded PSU. However it’s not been on release long enough. The PSU apparently made a huge difference to the U1 mini. I’m presuming here the kits made for U1 by TP and the like can seamlessly transfer to U2.
Put on your party shoes!
JVC we’re a great brand in the day, I had a wonderful cassette deck that lasted for years and sounded great with TDK SA
Because not everything I own on CD seems to be available to stream.
Even for mainstream artists like Kate Bush not all her work can be streamed.
Ultimately I guess I’ll have to rip all my CDs but it doesn’t seem like I can just get rid of them.
While I have a streamer I only use it to play my own music, ripped from CDs or bought as downloads. That was my point really, once the CDs are ripped it seems rather pointless to play them on a CDP. If the streaming is via Tidal or Qobuz it’s rather different. Getting shot of over 2,000 CDs was really liberating, we reclaimed so much wall space.
Yes the convenience of having everything to hand is attractive. Ripping them all less so. But i expect I will bite the bullet soon.
If you think that’s bad, just spare a thought for all those poor people with their vinyl collection. It’s heart breaking!
