Congratulations. The R-com is just plain gorgeous.
I love my one (recently bought) to bits. I know some don’t like it, but I certainly do.
A disproportionate sense of enjoyment when one analyses the functions available. But a joy to use!
Taking a flyer on an Sbooster for the EE8. Streaming from the Qnap and Qobuz is far behind the usb input on the NDX2.
I’d love to hear what you think about Sbooster + EE8. Are you coming from its original power supply or?
Using the original power supply now.
As bruss noted, it’s the R-Com, purchased off the ubiquitous auction site. My dealer provided a new Narcom 5 (which is perfectly fine) as a remote when I purchased the 552, but it’s nice to have the r-com.
If I’m honest, it’s probably the way that the buttons light up and how they feel like the buttons on the front of my Naim systems that makes it such a lovely remote. And the fact that it’s heavy enough to defend a walled city with.
Early NAC552s cam with a Narcom and a Flash remote. Later NAC552s replaced the Flash with an R-Com.
Flash pictured here;
Is volume easier to regulate on the R-com remotes.
Not on mine Pete. I consider it to be more of an ornament these days for use as a club for unwanted intruders due to its weight!
Thanks that made me laugh, cheers.
So these popped up on PFM so I snapped them up! Initial impressions are excellent even given the fact that my system has been off for the last few weeks and probably isn’t fully back on song yet!
I won’t say the words end game because I know what I’m like, but think they’re probably all the speaker this room could cope with.
Oh and before anyone says anything about the placement of the sofa, I KNOW! but it is the one concession to sq I’ve made and you’ll just have to believe me when I say the pros outweigh the cons
NEAT XLS’s BBWan ?
I use the R-Com in the main system and find volume is easy to regulate and increase or decrease in small increments with just a click of the buttons. The main advantage is that the buttons are more tactile than the standard remote, and you get a better feel and feedback from them, although I think here a nicely broken in Flash is still tops.
And @Mike_S
Have you two dudes got super lumina interconnects and speaker cables ?
Benefits ?
Cheers
Ah just remembered Pete you have 3 m SL and should have 4m
I’ve got SL speaker cables and a Hi Line that runs between my pre and and streamer. The speaker cables were a big improvement.
Thanks - yes I have the hi lines
Mate of mine uses high end kimber interconnects and cables with Dynavector gear
He swears that bang for buck interconnects come first
Just thinking about SL interconnects as a starter but I hear price increase out of this world
It looks like a comfortable sofa, so win!
They are really expensive think my 3.5m speaker cables were around $4,500 I’ve always been too scared to tell Mrs Pete. The Hi Line was over a grand think the SL is about $3k. If you up scaled all your cables you’d be up for over $20ks.
Please note prices quoted above are only based on my fading memory.
