What was the last bit of gear you bought in 2023?

Do you have a piccy of your glass in-situ please ?

I’m using them as shelves on my Record Racks and my Turntable Rack.
They are not currently using decoupling devices, but that may change in the future.
This is the Turntable Rack. My LP12 is sitting on a 500x500x20 piece of polished Quartz, which in turn is sitting on 4 spikes.

On the top shelf is my Cyrus Signature Phono Stage and on the lower shelf is the Cyrus PSXr2 and Mose PSU’s.
PS. Also the feet are fitted with spikes and those are sitting in spike shoes.

I paid CHF 92 for my tempered glass plate (450x340x10 mm like Fraim). This is the usual price in Switzerland for a plate made to measure by a glass dealer (DIN EN 12150). In addition there were 3 silicon nitride (Si3N4) ball bearings for 18 CHF each and 3 brass saucers for a few CHF from the sanitary trade. For about 150 CHF this was the cheapest upgrade ever with a relatively large sound improvement. And I don’t want to speculate what an original Naim isolation platform would cost.

A dealer listed this in the classifieds. Second hand, mint condition. Will pick it up in the end of may. Upgraded with Galder ceramic feet.

I was not planning on buying anything new this year, well apart from that itch about REL, but saw that the LPS for RPi is back in stock. The RPi runs RooExtend that feeds the UPnP stream from my Roon server (if that is the correct way to explain it).

My word it’s heavy! I’ll be moving it down to floor level later.

Do tell how this goes… I was very impressed with the Sig Tuned Array RCA to DIN.

New RCA DIN Signal Cable from Chris West at AV options ordered. They say it’s near Chord Music for a 1/3rd of the price. It was 30% off as well. Since I’m done with boxes for the for seeable future, I figured why not.

Please let us know your impressions once you have a chance to assess the cable

Will do. It will be from my LP12/Rega Aura to the 252DR. Be interesting to see how it compares the the Chord Signature Tuned Array I have now.

This isn’t sufficiently posh to warrant a fancy bag! Things were getting a bit messy with really long Cat6A cables, so I decided to rationalise things with some much shorter Clearway cables. They are not stupidly priced, especially as I bought them from a dealer who for some reason charges £40 less than everywhere else, and have attracted positive comments on here.

The Clearway is a very nicely balanced cable ime. I find the supposedly better Shawline dull and muddy by comparison.

Enjoy

Wow they are cheap. Under £300 for x5 shelves !!!

Thanks very much for the heads-up.

I have exactly the same setup as you describe here so will be watching this thread for your impressions

Nothing too lavish - for my son’s 2 x 6mtr NAC A5 cables. He’s bringing his Allaes with him, so we’ll get to test them in my system. Hopefully he’ll keep his eyes away from my n-SATs & n-SUB :slightly_smiling_face:

Uhhmmm…
What are they?

They are Herbie’s Giant Titanium Cone/Spike Decoupling Glider. They are sold by Herbie’s Audio Lab, in Texas, USA.

Those are very effective in dissipating vibrations, I use the stainless steel version under the speaker stand spikes, along with the Giant Fat Dots between the speaker cabinet and stands. Cannot recommend it any better!

So farm so good. They did not make me want to revert back. However, I already had a set on the second system.
