What was the last bit of gear you bought in 2023?

Was that to me FR?
Lyra’s a bit rich for me and I have an LP12 with an RB880 arm🤔
I’m more interested in a Hana, Ortofon or perhaps Dynavector, unless I just get another Apheta 3😊

I have an Ortofon Cadenza Black on my Technics 1210 and it’s a lovely sounding cart, I’m very happy with mine.

Dynavector cartridges are very spacial. I have had a 20x2H and a XV-1s (still have latter, but now sitting as a backup in a box). I haven’t heard the lower range Lyra cartridges but if they are even remotely anything like my Atlas they are very definitely worth looking into.

I heard the Hana at my dealer on a Clearaudio Performance DC TT. It didn’t leave me all that impressed. It was about the same cost as the DV 20x2L.

Thank you for that.
Cartridge selection is something I suffer a little dread over. I will do my best to audition the various ones in my price range.
The dread comes from the cost and the “short” life consumable nature of the things.:face_with_diagonal_mouth:

After using an Avid Diva sp for a while with SME309 and Ortofon 2m black I purchased an Avid Sequel. Transferred the arm and cartridge and the difference is amazing. It’s running through a Supernait 3/ hicap dr and SBLs. I was going to get a Volvere but the Sequel was a good price.

The Lyra Delos is around 1400 euros. I had it on P8 and P10, also RP10.

I use a Cadenza Black on my RP 10. It replaced a Koetsu Black and I love the sound of the Cadenza too. Very detailed and better grip than the Koetsu. Which preferences do you use with your phono pre?

Using the x20 (+26db) on the Allnic H7000 whatever that equates to, and when I use my Kondo KSL SFz step up transformer I use the 10 Ohm input on the back.

Although the inputs and settings on the Kondo don’t seem to do much, luckily it just seems to sound right.

I’m now fully equipped with Naim cups’n’balls, following a swap with @Hifi-dog.

Nice.

I’ve tried a few local places to cut glass but the pricing is £100+ per shelf (and that’s without the cups / balls) !!!

If you’re looking for just glass, I ordered 450x350x8mm thick

The glass came from Solid Sounds. At £115 for a custom size with balls - not the Naim ones - it was a lot less than the useless IsoAcoustics feet I tried. In the scheme of things, it’s not a lot of money. That said - I only bought one!

The glass I ordered was £58 delivered.

My Glass guy did me 800x300x10 for £70 a piece toughened.

Ah, but it’s only 8mm. Those 2mm make all the difference!

Crikey that is good !!!

Thanks.

Have just pinged them.

I did buy 19 pieces, but he said quantity didn’t matter all that much as far as he was concerned.
1 or 20, they cost him the same amount to make🤷🏻‍♂️
