Put it on rack and switched on when everyone was still asleep just to play radio at low level and warm it up a bit.
Literally with just a few seconds of pretty quiet R3 I knew it was a winner. Can’t remember the last time I had a Eureka moment like that.
Got Max Richter’s Four Seasons Recomposed on as I type this. Absolutely spellbinding. I am very happy

Well pleased for you, I’ve read those same reviews and also remember the splash the original Michi’s made and always thought they looked a great design.
By chance was at a Wedding near Hereford and whilst going for a walk from the hotel found a dealer there who had the most varied range of equipment I’ve ever seen.
He had the Michi’s there and they looked both fabulous and quietly menacing in the flesh, huge things.
Look like they would absolutely own whatever speaker was attached to them.

I can see me ending up at the same place, mind you your Quadspire rack must be hating you with that and the Marantz to cope with.
I’m just loving that I took the plunge to go with Technics for my TT’s, sounding absolutely sublime in both systems, rock solid timing but with such delicacy and sound staging.

You won’t regret that purchase! I have had my 505s for a few months now and I have been so very pleased with them. Not only do they look great, but they have a really nice balanced sound and can really deliver some punch if you need them to. They are a lot more refined and balanced than my previous Sopra No.1s.

ps. plenty of NAP500s on ebay at the moment with a range of prices based on their age 
Distance from Japan to New Zealand : 8000 km.
Distance from Great Britain to New Zealand : 19000 km.
It may explain why the Michi is cheaper vs the SN3. It may….

The Q rack doesn’t wobble so much any more!
I think the Marantz is over 16kg, the Michi is 29kg and the T+A is 15kg, the Kenwood KT not so much but still carries a bit more mass than most tuners I’ve come across and the Auralic is about 7, so getting on for 70 kilos…

I like them all.
I’ve had the T+A for over 25 years (3rd cartridge) and have no intention of parting with it.
R3 on the Kenwood is just a terrific thing.
The Auralic is a very nice piece of work, and I like the way you can customise so much of it, though I think has a lot of competition these days.
The Marantz is great as you know already.
But the star is clearly the Michi, even at twice the mass of anything else on the rack!
A great summary, each component all from different companies chosen on merit.
“You should be on commission” first the SA12SE now for sure, a few more Michi C3 series 2 will be landing on readers racks.

Yes HH, exactly - my one box swap for the HE was Linn.
I found a tip on both Taiko and Lejonklou forums using two Ubitiqui Amplifi HD routers as good sounding wireless link. I have been using as below for a while now - and it has been working out great in my setup.
It turned out buying the packaged newer Ubitiqui Alien Mesh Router + MeshPoint on the Ubitiqui online store (EUR 365) was even better. Especially when terminated with a Netgear GS108T switch. Ethernet cables (—>) are three 2.5 meter lengths of BJC CAT6a.
Here is the simple setup:
ISP-router —> Alien Mesh Router WAN
Alien Meshpoint —> Port7 GS108T Port8 —> Mac Mini M4
I dont have anything else connected except enabled WiFi on the Alien Mesh Router to which I only connect the iPad Pro controller. All factory power supplies.
The original variant used two Ubitiqui AmpliFi HD Routers. Port3 on the destination router (to the GS108T) sounds best.
