What was the last bit of gear you bought?

Second impressions this morning listening to vinyl from my voyd through my LV avatars.
Sounds absolutely fantastic
Fab.

I got a new cartridge for my RP 10: Ortofon Cadenza Black. It sounds wonderful out of the box.

Amazing what an iPhone can do…

Not worth it. Not tall enough, and create a unstable rocking sensation outside of the normal movement of the Gaia’s. A few have chosen granite slabs then Gaia’s without the carpet spikes.

Very happy with my new speaker cables, NACA5, 2 × 6 meters, 3-terminated and with Naim’s original plug. Pure bargain price, £ 150.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

New into the house today, not technically mine yet as it is here for demo. My dealer is pretty confident he isn’t going to get it back though. This is a brand new unit, I picked up a sealed box delivered from Naim this morning. It is sounding very good out of the box into my SN3 so I think my dealer is correct. I’ve had a ND5 XS2 on loan for the past week that I felt wasn’t a significant improvement on my Allo Bridge Sig/Shanti/Qutest combo. The NDX2 is a big improvement, as it should be given the price difference. Now to sit back and chill out with a big smile for the next week.

NDX2 is an amazing piece of kit…
Sounds great naked
Amazing with an XPS DR
absolutely different league with a 555 Ps…

The most impressive upgrade for me thou was the English Electric switch… not cheap at 500 quid but worth every penny in my opinion…

Don’t be tempted with a TP XPS… sounds worse than naked…

Seems I’ve been lucky with the NDX2. I had feelers out with a couple of dealers and one has just come back to me to let me know that they cannot help as Naim are suspending production of the NDX2 until the new year due to lack of parts.

I have to say… what a piece of kit that 555 ps is!! I always thought my speakers were a bit bright and lacking in bass but the new editions (555 ps and EE switch) have made the B&Ws come alive…
Absolutely amazed in the difference to be honest…

Looking forward to seeing what this can tell me about my listening room and speaker position over the coming weeks!

To quote the email

Well @Naim.Marketing said 16 hours ago “It’s in production, but in limited quantities due to component issues. But again, if things go according to plan (with all the usual caveats) we should be making several hundred by year end.”

I suspect things are very fluid but Clare’s update probably superceeds the email that your dealer received.

There are a lot of back orders - I’m not surprised to see January quoted, depending on when/where the order was taken.

And there are indeed many days where production of this and other models is suspended while we await fresh components; it then starts up again when they arrive.

Again, we have no visibility whether a dealer/distributor order is for stock or to fulfill an existing order.

We are working on some fresh comms for our dealers re availability - should go out next week.

Hi Paul,
not a bottle-a glass

Give the man your money and put the box in the loft, you won’t regret it

Nice to see some Audiovectors with Naim, I don’t recall seeing many on here, but I know they can gel nicely with Naim. Once heard them with a 282/250 based system which was a very nice combination. Undoubtedly the NAC A5 will allow your 250 to feed the Audiovectors as Naim intended and you just won’t beat that unless spending silly money on cables…even then, more money doesn’t always mean better. Gotta say, NAC A5 is working just great here too and I have no intentions of changing it; it just works…and well. Enjoy.
