Its finally arrived. Way to go Hermes/Evri - rubbish. Do Not Use.
Bonobo - Fragments -
But the CD seems quite… nice… ? Not sure its really ‘me’ though… Hmmmm…
(I was hoping it would be something like the Afro Celts… )

Me too. Good value at that price.
Is it any good? Bought it for a friend as his Christmas pressie, he’s PF mad, and I think they are mining the past way too much.
Interesting
Looked at that, in the record shop last night…
Any good? Do share any thoughts once you’ve listened a few times
Happy listening

I like it. It needs listening to closely. Musically it is very different from the original, but it speaks volumes about the man and his messages.
Will you or anyone else like it? I have no idea.
(Same answer to @ratrat ).
Been listening to Lloyd Cole’s latest offering - via Qobuz - since it was released end of June.
Last night, finally took the plunge and bought a copy, both format, vinyl and CD.
Also bought tickets to see Mr Cole on his forthcoming Autumn tour.
Lloyd Cole (and also with The Commotions) has been a long standing favourite for both my best mate (my wife) and myself. We’ve seen him live quite a few times over the many years, back to the 80’s, etc.
A lot of his solo material is great, simpler arrangements, mostly acoustic. The joy of this latest album is that he is playing material with a band again. It’s brilliant. So, we’re really looking forward to the concert. We already know it’s split into two sets : (1) acoustic ; (2) electric band, etc. And the band includes two former colleagues from the Commotions. We can’t wait for the concert date.

Arrived yesterday.
Great album how good is the track The Idiot.
Sure, love the opening few notes, on the synth, etc.
Also like the way “Wolves” builds…
To be honest, like them all.
Enjoying what Mr Cole has done on this album. Feels like he is returning to something that resembles the 80’s pop formula that we liked at the beginning. Albeit, a bit more mature, grown up, more sophisticated production in the studio. (Which maybe comes from maturing).
I finally bought The Family from 1985. You may know The Family was Prince’s first group, and the CD contains the first ever release of Nothing Compares 2 U.
It was very rare and expensive and I always wanted to buy it and waited for years for a bargain, but it was not to happen.
With the sad passing of Sinead O’Connor it became rarer and the price went to the stars. I found one the other day and though it is now or never.
So I am waiting for it in the mail any day and praying I do not have a bad surprise.
