What was the last CD you bought

Two mid-80s classics that I’ve never really enjoyed on the 2005 remasters I’ve had for years, so got an original pressing of each from Discogs for a handful of shekels each:

Was it the remastering that was getting in the way of my enjoyment? Yes, it was!

The Divine Comedy is a good catch, especially for 50p :+1:t4:

Thanks. Not that familiar with their work so a cheap way in whilst supporting a great cause.

These 2 turned up yesterday INXS Kick and Bad Company Straight Shooter both SACDs from Analogue Productions 75th Atlantic series, the latest released from them.

3 today from local charity shop - all £1 each (I know steep!), and all unscratched unlike many they have.

The Very Best of Dolly Parton

Toto - Past to Present 1977-90

Foals, Everything Not Saved Will be Lost - Part 2 – seemingly still sealed so may be an over-stock? No idea what this might be like.

Oh, the hours spent in the car listening to that with my wife and daughters singing along…

That’s a pretty good compilation, including four new (at the time) tracks; plus, it’s a pre-Loudness Wars mastering.

When you look at the credits for the various members of Toto (inc. MJ’s Thriller), it’s a bit of an insult to call them a band made up of session musicians. Some serious talent in play.

Almost as good as that other assembly of session musicians, The Eagles. :grinning:

‘Session musician’ is (or should be) by no means a term of disparagement.

I’m retired and as my inlaws need a lot of looking after holidays abroad are out for now so when we can we’re staycationing the heck out this lovely country, in my defence it’s my wife goes into charity shops first, this is my Peak District weekend haul, I didn’t notice the Gabarek was a double until I got home

I recently grabbed some used Toto DVD’s. I agree, some serious talent back in the day.

My wife bought that one last year. I was devastated - I thought that I’d brung her up proper like!

this mornings find in a new charity shop. 50p each apart from the Verdi which was £1! I have some on vinyl so these allow me to have a digital copy for my iPod. And at that price I can explore others I don’t know.

I like the Staves album, and at 50p you can rip and return if you wish?
