The second Bob Marley and the Wailers Analogue Productions Sacds, Rastaman Vibrations, the Exodus sacd is excellent hopefully this is the same upgrade on the original CD.
How do you rate these versions?
How much better would you say they are compared to older CD versions?
I’ve only played the Exodus cd red book layer against the Barry Diament mastered cd, nothing wrong with that, to explain that the Analogue Productions digs deeper into the mix and you get a more in studio sound where as the earlier version is a smooth nice listen but now lacking a bit of detail, both cds are high quality so no loser in isolation which ever you listen too.
Good to know. Thanks.
I’ve always thought Exodus CD is excellent from a mastering point of view. I might consider these.
Great album imo.
Just picked this up after work: looking forward principally to the disc of alt versions/takes. Couldn’t really justify the vinyl boxset in terms of £££, but hoping this will be excellent.

Edit/ just unwrapped it and the packaging is fine - phew, a relief after reviews I’d read about discs being very hard to remove etc. Very nice booklet!
No play time till the weekend ( bloody Black Friday shift tomorrow ) but so far, happy with the non-playable parts.
@steviebee I’m hoping Santa will bring this ![]()
Heartbeat by Lauren Kinsella, is a lovely listen. Edition a Jazz label were discounting stuff today and I discovered this album, which is not really jazz, more sophisticated pop.
After listening to this band on the radio all of my life I finally got me some Sparks on CD. Why has it taken me so long?
I bought this primarily for “Future Games”, which seems to be unavailable in this country unless pre-owned.
Rather sobering to think that only Mick Fleetwood and John McVie alive out of the players on these albums, I believe.
As an aside, I do like Christine McVie’s keyboard contributions (as well as her songwriting); not flashy, or overdone, but subtly enhancing the songs.
I think Jeremy Spencer contributed to Then Play On and he too is still alive.
You’re quite right. I assumed he had gone the way of so many musicians from the 60s.

Actually I believe there is very little of Jeremy Spencer on Then Play On - it’s very much a Peter Green and Danny Kirwan show although Spencer was still in the band. He was much more present on the following album - Kiln House - and then departed.
Picked three new Mobile Fidelity SACD, this is one of them, Emerson, Lake & Palmer debut album, had a listen and it’s pretty good, more detailed and wider sound stage, a little bright on the negative side but all in all a good listen.
