I’m hoping this is the RSD 45rpm release from last year Remastered by Bernie Grundman and pressed at RTI.
Since your post I’ve been listening to this on Qobuz, absolutely beautiful, thanks for that!
I’ve removed a post here. Let’s stay on topic and please (what was the last vinyl you bought, if anybody needs reminding) and keep politics out of discussions on this forum. Thanks.
Well said I’ve removed my post above
John Williams - ‘Changes’ (1971) and ‘Portrait of John Williams’ (1982). Both bought second hand in Bristol last Tuesday. Last year I bought ‘Travelling’ and ‘Bridges’ and some of the Sky albums and I took the chance to investigate some of John’s other work with these.
Bob James - ‘One on One (with Earl Klugh)’ (1979). I bought ‘Espresso’ on CD on a whim when it first came out in 2018 and enjoyed it. So I am investigating some of Bob’s LPs from the late seventies and early eighties. I have ‘Touchdown’ (1978) and ‘Foxie’ (1983). This is the latest one, bought last Tuesday in Bristol.
On preorder: Four-album, two-single vinyl bundle of limited-edition facsimiles of the 1970-1975 studio releases from Van der Graaf Generator.

What? No Still Life? ![]()
That album seems not to have been reissued.
You can always get a very good S/H original pressing for around £30.00. Well worth it for My Room alone.
Great music obvs - a really well presented package. The splatter vinyl sounds quiet enough and the additional 12" is interesting rather than essential. My original copy will go to Oxfam with a caveat on condition.
What is a High Res analogue transfer? Sounds like marketing doublespeak to me.
Does it sound good though?
I think that usually means the analogue tapes were recorded to Hi res files. Those files were then cut to vinyl. It can be very efffective if the A to D and D to A are done well.
I know Richard I was being tongue in cheek ![]()
Thanks to @Richard.Dane for the explanation. I was attracted by the A word and assumed hi-res was simply a descriptor. It does sound very good altho a very busy record with lots going on. Can’t do a genuine A-B as it’s been remastered and my Janus copy happily crackles and clicks throughout.
