I’ve ordered quite a few of these Rhino Hi fidelity records and maybe I’ve been lucky but no damages so far. I normally order a couple at a time and have never had any taxes to pay.

Yes probably best to buy that way, works out slightly better & far cheaper than paying the scalpers on discogs!

This is an excellent album but it is Brandi Carlile that really shines. It is not what I expected from both of them.

The latest purchases. I saw Reema at the audio deluxe show and was really moved by her songs and voice.

Just been on HMV, have an offer of 3 x vinyl for £66, 6 x for £132 etc.
Large selection too, over 1600 albums, not just a few dozen…

Very pleased to have found a US first Monarch pressing, in mono. Disc looks trashed but plays really well excepting a minor skip and s/n at the beginning of The End…for £25. Chuffed.

I’ve now sold 8 records for $1,200. Got a whooping $800 for 2 rare NZ metals, the first ones ever released - took a great offer before the auction closed.
I now see that I have a lot of records worth $100+ each. I also have the first German pressing of the debut Eloy album, that has an average sale price of $2,000 and last sold for $3,500 - I’ll need to play that one.
I need a sit down.

Ha, you never stop, but I’m finished with upgrades at the moment. Most of my $100+ ones are keepers, there’s a bit of a treasure trove there. I should probably check out selling that very rare one, but would need to list in Europe I think.
The NZ metal ones were a fascinating sale. I’d countered offered at the maximum sale prices on discog and got close to that. I was tempted to let the auction run (it had a much lower reserve) but decided to go with the offer. Went to a record store too, maybe they know the band members who will sign it or have some other connection. Weirdly, I bought another used record the other day from a different shop and when they emailed me it was the bands lead singer! He was going to make me an other but didn’t follow up. I’m really pleased if it finds a good home with connection back to the lads who were doing the circuit back in the day. Just goes to show.

I got this used on-line from a record store. It was described as VG/VG and the cover (gate-fold sleeve) is as new, but unfortunately the record has a couple of scratches. I guess that is the risk of buying on-line when you can’t inspect them. Actually, putting that aside, it sounds superb - it’s the Arista first NZ pressing. Swings and roundabouts though, the $10 Turn of a Friendly Card is mint and sounds the right business.
Now wondering whether to get the MOFI 45 RPM edition (very expensive, but available here) or the SACD (would need to buy from the US). I do have the DSD download, but I reckon the vinyl is better. Another option would be to get another better used one and swap the covers around.
