What Was The Last Vinyl You Bought?

@steviebee

I love this album and the album cover.

I can easily find the splatter picture disc reissue but not the TMR Vault #65 Jesus & Mary Chain Psychocandy + Live In Detroit Third Man Records box set.

Is this available in the UK?

I don’t know @GiantLeap.

I haven’t been to the TM store (no time - even tho it’s not far from work).

Found my copy on ebay.

I have the original pressing, must give it a spin and hear how it sounds.

Nice one @Mike_S

I also have my original, bought at the time; it’s badly scratched, slightly warped and flecked with hair spray and dust. Not surprisingly the reissue sounds a lot better!

What a great album this is. I managed to grab 10 LP’s at the Local Record Fair today, bit of a treat

The magnificent Terry Callier, not well enough known, which is a shame… I have all his albums on CD, each one more beautiful than the last…

Emancipator’s Maps is my latest purchase. It is a track on his album Soon it will be cold enough, but when I bought the album it was a pressing without 2 of the tracks on his original version; and my favourite track Maps was one of those missing! Luckily I’ve now found an ep of Maps (yippee) making me very happy. I could play it all day and never get too much

This is my first Terry Callier album and it is absolutely stunning. The rhythm, timing, bass and the young 23 year old Terry singing his heart out is amazing. When they say less is more this is it for me. I think this will be my recommendation for album of the year 2025

I will buy it on vinyl this one…

The Qobuz version has 15 tracks, they should have made a double vinyl.

This version is made from the original analog tapes and mastered by Matthew Lutthans. The wife and I have just finished listening to this on beautiful QLD spring evening . Magnificent. Please let me know what you think after you have had listen

Just bought a new signed Gregory Porter 10th anniversary Liquid Spirit triple lp for free (postage only)! Wouldn’t ordinarily buy it but worth a go for that price. From a certain Jazz site that sells Everything apparently. Must be a loss leader or error..

Thanks for that - just ordered. They must have had a job lot they wanted to get rid of (or, as you say, it is an error). Might also be a promotion related to the current London Jazz Fest, perhaps. Took the opportunity to pick up the Andrew Hill Tone Poet and John Cameron ‘Off Centre’ too.

Well done, yes you’re probably right. It’s a great album actually, just listened to it.

I think ‘Everything Jazz’ is run by Universal UK, who in the past have hosted Blue Note ‘pop up’ stores at the LJF with various promotions, so I guess this could be one of them.

Well spotted !

My receipt definitely lists the Porter LPs as ‘free’ so it all looks promising..
