Decided I didn’t ever want to get drunk again after a bender in September 2018.
Went from then until Valentines Day 2019 when the wife and I went for a curry. Had two pints with the meal but didn’t enjoy them.
We went to see Primal Scream in Leeds in December 2019 where again I had two pints with a pre gig curry. Didn’t enjoy those either and have not touched a drop since.
I’ve tried a few non alcohol beers and mostly been disappointed. Guinness 0.0 is probably the best and Bavaria is quite flavorsome. Must look out for the Erdinger.
It’s Monday so having a San Miguel 0.0
I think this is one of the better readily available zero alcohol lagers. A bit sugary but works for me
My wife and I are fans of these to start off an evening, with a view to lowering the overall units total. All 4 are slightly different. Available in supermarkets.
This is a very decent lager with low enough sugars

Couldn’t find any Erdinger but saw Kronenburg so bought that to try.
Nah …
Totally different!
I tried some Madri 0%. Bit more flavour than the generic and I think pretty indistinguishable Becks/Peroni/Heineken/San Miguel/Stella etc and minimal ‘chemical’ aftertaste. I still think darker and richer beers are better suited to 0% versions, but this was OK for a lager. Slightly malty flavour.
Erdinger the only 0% wheat beer I have tried and pretty decent I think.

I got a strong, unpleasant aftertaste from the Kronenburg. Hot as bad as the Heineken I tried but I wouldn’t buy it again.
‘Madri’ such an example of deceitful marketing that I couldn’t bring myself to ever buy it…
Not sure I have seen an advert for the brand?
I highly recommend Bero. It’s the actor Tom Holland’s business and the beers are so close to the real thing you’ll find yourself checking the label to make sure you’re not drinking alcohol. I’m really impressed.
It’s a 100% British invention with no heritage or connection with Madrid - or indeed Spain. It’s marketed as a premium European product comparable to Corona, Moretti etc etc
Oh I see. I always assume that the main brands are all made in the same (UK) factory anyway, however they are marketed.

Lots are made under license but with the original brand being a genuine product.
I don’t have a highly developed palate, so my simple statement, I would drink it again.
This is what is says on the tin
