It was my 66th Birthday this week. Mrs R said: “I’ve been a bit rubbish getting you a bottle of malt in time, so we have to go to the Whisky Shop in Manchester for you to choose one.”
We tried a couple of new ones and settled on the Benriach 12y.o. Rich, smooth and more than a hint of the different casks, without it being too dominant.
What a lovely way to spend a while. They do tasting evenings once a month, so I will need some other excuse than a birthday to try that out.

Did any one attend Whiskey Live 2026 in London on the 27/28 February. Great event loads of different whiskies to try. Had a great time there and just wondered if anyone else was there.
