Witch Hat Morgana

Hi
Sorry for the long delay, I’m offshore working nights…
They are a 7m pair, when and if I am successful in replacing them they will be surplus to requirements!

Luckily I got a full refund for my two outstanding Witch Hat orders.

I had an order from last September on the pre order offer for Spectre and some Morgana interconnects that I ordered on the 2023 spring offer.

Fortunately I ordered the Spectre (£1263.75) on my credit card and the interconnects (£1246.95) on my debit card and then an ETI speaker connector upgrade (£150) on my Paypal.

If I’d ordered the Spectre on my debit card I wouldn’t of got a refund as it would of been over the time period.

So £2660.70 safely back in my bank account, but like others I would of preferred the cables.

Should that happen, I will not the only interested party here.

I need something white, flexible and 7m long for the Tasmanian house.

Glad you got a refund.
After knowing about the situation and how you could have been left I’d be more than pleased and not at all disappointed about not getting the cables.
You could have been turned well over. :cold_sweat:

I was thinking that like NACA5 the Oyaide has a good amount of space between the conductors. That should help with the inductance and capacitance that the older kit wants to see.

Thanks fellow wine glass man:+1::wine_glass:

Does anyone have experience of Chord Sarum speaker cables. Although I will not be getting the Spectre Cables, I still want to upgrade the Phantoms. Will also look a Lumina now as well

“isn’t much”

I know there are some. I had Mission cable that was of the same construction but just totally different conductors.

If it was a Nait 2 vintage or earlier I’d stick with Naim/Linn cable. If after, I’d ignore all that and just buy something that sounded good and not worry too much about inductance/capacitance.

My dealer actually has both that Oyaide and the Luxman I mentioned on drum. But customers here realky go in for the shortest run as possible philosophy. So getting them to lend me a long run of anything is out of the question. Currently I have 4m runs of Luxman JPS-100 and Atlas Hyper 2.0. They’ll be fine for the office and kitchen systems but I’ll need something twice as long for the new living room and was thinking along the Phantom/Spectre lines. Dashed intentions. I’m unlikely to punt on the 100% unfamiliar so pondering a longer run of what I know higher up the range.

Atlas works great with (and is developed and tested on) Naim amps. The Luxman has that ultra thick gage heavy conductors similar to A5. Decisions decisions.

A +1 for the Atlas hyper 2.0. I use to use it after i sold my Auditorium 23 cables. It is a very well rounded cable, nothing stands out but nothing seems to be missing either.

Yes Sarum let alone Sarum t are superior

Why the long lengths if none of the equipment is Naim? Don’t most other brands, including Luxman, suggest shortest possible?

Well the equipment is all Naim but that has nothing to do with it. The hifi is simply far away from the speakers. Simple matter of physics; 4m won’t reach.

When our new basement room is ready, my current cables won’t be long enough. I will need more than 11m and may just go back to good old NACA5

I would demo the Kudos KS-1 with the Naim Plugs at the amp end as well. I found them significantly better than the Phantoms in my set-up.

For folks looking for signal cables and don’t want to spend Chord Sarum T/ Music money, the new AVO Signal Cables are fantastic. Had these for a few weeks and they are much, much better than the Signature TA and Morganas.

That’s what I love about this place, never any hyperbole :grinning:

None what so ever! I am actually pretty floored by these cables. I was trying not to use hyperbole in my description.

Chris mentioned these to me just a couple of days ago. Are yours burnt in yet and what have you been able to compare them to?

Must be inflation then.

I remember when my CDX2 was better than my CD5x, CDS3 was much better than my CD5x and CD555 was much much better than my CD5x.

Seems like nowadays my CD555 would be much, much, much, much better than my old CD5X.

Don’t mind me I’m in one of those moods!

It definitely should be!
