Possibly a low battery warning? If it detects CO it’s going to do more than just flash red a few times!

That’s quite a contemporary looking stove, Morso are well regarded so probably a safe purchase if the design and 8kw output suits

Thought the same, but it’s reverted to green.
One of our mains powered smoke alarms started blinking red intermittently for a while. I had no idea what that meant, but a few weeks later it started beeping, indicating that the battery needed replacing.
Another thought - is there a test button on the alarm which you are supposed to use periodically to check that it works? If, like most people, you never bother, give it a try and see it stops the red flashing light.

Yes, test button still works and makes the LCD flip between an ambient temperature display or a ‘graph’ showing normal or elevated CO.
Starting to wonder if I dreamt the red LED but I don’t think so - it was maybe a week ago and Google suggests it holds the highest CO reading for the last 14 days.
Ultimately, I need some replacements - the Fireangels’ batteries supposedly last 7 years but checking on Amazon they were purchased around 2017 so are overdue for replacement even if the batteries are still ‘ok’. That assumes I started using them immediately. I test them but hadn’t written down the start of use date on the back 
We have a Morso, had it installed about 10+ yrs ago - it’s been very reliable and being cast iron holds heat well overnight (so thumbs up from the cat as well). Only thing I would say, I find it isn’t quite as easy to regulate as the steel stove we had before but once you get used to the controls it’s OK.

Seems so unseasonably cold I’ve had to light one or both of the log burners in the last 4-5 days.
Loads of cold rain and hail showers today.

Still having my stove lit most evenings, this spring is far cooler than this time last year.
Lucky to have a good supply of logs.
My oil tank only has a few inches to go, so central heating is turned off in the hope the price of kerosene will fall soon. (2 chances: fat chance / no chance).

This set arrived here today. 
I thought long and hard about buying just a manual set, but having experienced my first amateur rodding up the flexible liner, i’m glad to have paid the extra for this power-sweep set.
Took my time, put dust sheets down (and over the audio) and Henry hoover and i both got stuck in. First job a gentle manual up and down, found the distance to the cowl is 9.5m. This gained me a few handfuls of little black crispies.
The Second go was using the FlueBoss head for power-cleaning, connected to my 18v hand-drill, this power clean was easy but surprised me with the dust and bits falling although the result quickly produced a bucketful of black crispies, Henry’s bag was almost full, but he was still smiling.
A final third go manual again just a quick up and down to dislodge any Clingons.
Needed to give Henry a bag change, and a good clean up after.
All seems to have gone well, just a slight after-pong of soot in the room, so have a fan on and door open for time being…

I asked because i always remember a works garden party at this guy,s who worked for me…..he liked doing everything himself from installing log burners to solar panels. He told us he was going to do a sweep himself, got the kit…..never heard anymore.
At the party i asked in front of his wife how it went…..she was off the scale. They had cream carpets and furniture….he had taped the fireplace, Henry etc…..but there was something that got dislodged and fell with what it had held up.
I have refrained myself even though i have the kit…..cos i know it would happen to me…….i am sure you will be O.K

It went to plan okay here 
However it’s only a stove with 5" liner, so no masonry to dislodge.
I’ve had 3 different professional sweeps here over the years, one has since retired, one is the HETAS engineer who installed the stove and liner, he power-swept it a few years ago, a good job but £85 so not cheap. The other guy has a 6 week appointment wait, he’s a bit weird too, only manual sweep, and after i hear occasional cascades of crispies falling down the liner; like when one hits the jackpot with 3 cherries…
After observing how they go about it, i figured it was DIY doable here.
Also i now have the option to do a sweep twice a year, one late December, and then again at end of cold weather in the Springtime. A power-sweep saves me £85 a time, plus i have time to faff about longer for the perfectionist job

I know where you are coming from, as with the stainless liner and dry wood there is very little. In fact we did not bother for 3 years as our sweep disappeared. We have an installer sweep who serviced our stove and cleaned……we will probably continue for now.
The funny part of the previous story was that it was a pigeon body and nest, plus other detritus……he was still defending that he had saved the day as the house could have caught fire. The wife, having none of it,

Got stocked up early this year, running two Clearviews now and no oil boiler so some extra required, still have a fair bit left over from last year stashed in the garage so that’ll be used up first

A quick search on the web comes up with kits at around £500 … seems excessive. Can you share debs the source of your kit please?

I think you may have purchased the kit (or very similar) to the one I got last year.
The rods are great due to the connectors as I was afraid of cheaper versions where you might disconnect rods by turning the wrong way. Hope you got a good deal.

Yes the screw-together type ones are stated as manual use. I suppose you could motor it but would need to remember the correct rotation direction!
I really wanted the power sweeping type, having seen the HETAS engineer use them with the “FlueBoss”, and after my first experience can confirm this is easier and more efficient at cleaning - make more dust tho’
