You can’t have Christmas without the wonderful Kate Rusby,s several albums of songs the church banned one plus local ones from around the country. Sung by the Barnsley nightingale

Always start the Christmas season with this, because it really is so, er Christmassy.

Hello,

I’m stumped, can you solve the riddle?

Greetings Günter

Kate Rusby also has a Christmas tour. I imagine Christmas albums for folk singers can be good sellers and break into the general market. Some are good songs too.

Fairytale of New York.

Shane McGowan and Kirsty McColl.

This seemed appropriate for today:

Quite challenging in places, but the quality of the singing in the wonderful acoustic of Merton College Chapel certainly excites the tingle factor.

Building on the Merton disc:

A stimulating mixture of the mediaeval and the 20th century, recorded in the sumptuous acoustic of Douai Abbey (where I’ll be returning to sing in ten days’ time) in 2012.

Great book-style packaging, too.

I’m enjoying this. It’s a compilation with some overlap with the Christmas With My Friends series with some additional material.

Nothing like Chris D’Burgh who is to be avoided like the plague obvs

Can’t have Christmas without a good singalong to:
