Your Currently Played Favourite Female Vocalist or Group

I have found the list interesting so as to go out and give a listen to names new to me.

Some others worth exploring:
Sara Bareilles
Carly Rae Jepsen
Emma Swift

Scrolling through the thread, I see only one mention of Gillian Welch. I’m here to make it two!

Barely a day goes by without me playing something by her.

All my favourite female vocalists have been mentioned but I don’t believe Lizz Wright has had a mention yet, so Lizz Wright.

Oh and Diane Birch too…

Thanks, just listening to Sing Lesley Sing , it’s really good

Her best known song is probably “Love Song”, which has been covered by Neil Diamond and David Bowie, as well as by Elton John on one of his early albums.

I was going to add that she sadly died a few years ago, but just checked and she died 10 years ago. I remember hearing the announcement of her death at the time but I’m shocked by how time has flown.

I’ve just realised I missed out Elles Springs, very classy singer songwriter.

Ah - not another one missed out from my list. I’m going to add Margo Timmins immediately.
