What’s your favourite Christmas song, doesn’t matter if it’s cheesy or not (most are). My favourite unfortunately seems more relevant today than ever HAPPY XMAS (WAR IS OVER), John & Yoko Plastic Ono Band + Harlem Community Choir.
Greg Lake’s “I believe in Father Christmas” by a country mile
Changes at least once every year, but right now it’s Everybody’s Waiting For The Man With The Bag by Kay Starr
I hesitate to mention: Rolf Harris’s version of two little boys, so instead I offer up Jona Lewie’s stop the cavalry, which as an anti war song somehow gets regular Christmas air.
Some great choices above, but I’m going to offer up the Fairytale of New York (being married in to an Irish American family) and In Dulci Jubilo by Mike Oldfield. Presuming, that is, we’re leaving carols and classics out of the mix.
Anything other than Last Christmas with Wham!
This Ain’t New Jersey - Smith and Burrows. Such a great lyric for a Christmas song. Greg Lake pushes it close but the extended ‘orchestra’ version should be banished!
It doesn’t seem to get played much but I really like Run With The Fox by Chris Squire
I still love this song
My GF makes me play that Mariah Carey Christmas song ‘All I want for Christmas is you’ it sounded surprisingly good on my system not my favorite Christmas song, but Naim makes it sound pretty good.
I get to hear the song every Christmas as Mrs Pete subjects me watch Love Actually. One can only stand it so many times before it’s defined as cruelty.
Only a few days more lol
Oooops! Ditto
Another vote for Greg Lake. However, when in the right mood it’s hard to beat a bit of Noddy Holder’s pension plan.
Driving Home For Christmas.
Chris Rea.
