Your Watch & Naim

A cool vintage LED quartz - Nice! It’s interesting how that the quartz revolution during the 70’s nearly annihilated the Swiss mechanical watch industry.

Beautiful indeed, thanks for sharing and wear it in good health.

Unfortunately watches are my addiction. For many on here it’s the pursuit of the ultimate audio and for me it’s timepieces. My grandfather was a horologist. Repaired and serviced watches so I grew up.around them…now I’m a passionate collector and founded a strap making business so its continued in the family :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Thanks guys. Yes it’s a bit of a stunner and indeed the date on these is superb from the typeface to the quickset!

I have many watches not expensive ones except one but these two are my favorites…

Magrette, a NZ micro brand and Gycine that I bought from Drop, excellent watches with good build quality matching the expensive brands

Recently I order different Nato straps for them as well

Lange is one of the few luxury brands I’ve not owned. I generally wear sportier watches, which is part of the reason. I do like their moonphase Lange 1’s, but I prefer the moon on the smaller one, but the overall size of the larger (grand Lange 1) . . . so it’s been a stalemate for me!

I think it’s a wonderful brand with great heritage and the craftsmanship is sublime. It’s the first watch I ever picked up and verbally said ‘wow’. It’s really something else. The movement is as pretty as the face!

You’ve got to just try a few on. One day I hope to own the Datograph. That’s my grail watch

I’ve tried 'em all on. Including the Zeitwerk  The Datagraph up/down is lovely.

Rubbish quality phone camera, but yesterday’s new arrival is anything but.

I’ve been after this Unicorn for a couple of years. So that’s a number of future Yules, birthdays and anniversaries covered in one hit, making me easy to buy for, by dint of not having to buy me anything for some time to come.

Beautiful!

That’s lovely. It’s nice to have something a bit different.

Thank you both. You only live once. Well, I will.

Cor.

I initially ordered one but switched the deposit to a Milgauss I saw in my AD’s window. I personally like this more than the Rolex Pepsi that launched at the same time. Although I have been put off lately by the reports of date change malfunctions and Tudor’s slow after sales service in this regard. I hope yours runs well. It likely will.

Thanks Harry. Yes, my AD shared that Tudor have taken steps to address the date wheel issue that happened on early models. I happened on this watch when I visited my AD recently to see if my details were still correct on the 116500LN (black dial) S/S Daytona Chronograph wait list (I’ve been on the list for 3 years), and they’d just received this Tudor Black Bay GMT (normally waiting list restricted) - I just arrived at a good time (I’d been after a Pepsi for a while). At less than £3K, the Tudor is remarkably good value, very comfortable (even though it’s quite large) and very smart - gets lots of positive comments. A positive side effect is that it’s also helped my purchase history with my AD for my grail watch (Daytona).

Your Rolex SD looks awesome - hope it gives you many years of joy!

George.

I hope you live a long life to a very old and healthy age George. It may not be long enough to get a Daytona but it doesn’t hurt to hope!

Best wishes for it and thank you for your comments on the SD. I’m on the waiting list for a TT CHNR, probably arriving in 2022 give or take. After that I will be done. Or at least, that’s what I’m telling myself.
