But the alligators are grown solely for their hides. They are killed by mashing their brains with a spiked rod, which is not what I’d call exactly humane. It’s totally unjustifiable.

Fascinating. The font used for the numbers is the same used on today’s Portugiesers (I once had two of those, a chronograph and perpetual calendar).

Pigs are gassed with CO2. Is that OK?

Talking about what is inhumane or not while being a meat eater… :cut_of_meat:

I don’t eat meat, and anyway it’s far easier to justify eating meat for sustenance than wearing alligator straps for pure vanity.

Sorry, what is the scope of cocodriles and alligators if you don’t eat their meat and use their skin?

I buy synthetic straps made from recycled water bottles. Just like my Patagonia jackets.

Nice one Dan. Having your Roley serviced makes you feel good. It’s comfort in knowing that all is ship shape. After 13 years on my wrist, every day, my Sub was creaking, strap needed new links too. I took mine directly to the Rolex service centre. It was ready inside two weeks. Nice experience and good for another 10.
