My current daily
Tidy
So, decided that rather than spending a few grand on one watch (that I’d be too worried about to wear) I’m going to spend the same amount on building a small collection of interesting watches. The first one in this “post-cancer” collection is this, a Pompeak Gentleman’s Classic in British Racing Green. I’ll be adding another 4-5 watches to the collection in the coming weeks and I’ll post those as and when they arrive.
“Open heart” safe Citizen movement. Good start and not a bad looking watch. Enjoy building up your collection.
Those Steinharts are lovely, and not silly priced - The new Nova 39 will be my next.
I have that green 42 too, yet to control the precision.
My OC1 Red run a bit too fast, not sure It bothers me that much in rotation.
I think they are very good. I have had mine regulated by a watchmaker. It was a bit slow for a while. I can now control it by its position at night. Flat to speed it up a touch, on it’s edge to slow it slightly. Some of the models have a better movement.
What a coincidence, I’ve just cottoned onto this a few days back, and particularly relates to people who have Timegraphers. For example, my Omega gains time throughout the day, so at night I leave it Crown down
I have an App on my phone which seems pretty accurate. Called Watch Accuracy Meter. Quite fun.
Being retired, a few seconds makes little difference to me. Come to that a few minutes or even hours make little difference either. That said, my JLC is incredibly accurate and seems to keep bang on timing for months on end.
Good luck and best wishes, hope it all goes well.
Wow Lange 1 Timezone perchance?
Martin
That’s the one yes. I did hesitate with the Lange 1 Moonphase for a while, but I prefer the Timezone complication. And it’s more useful for me who keep travelling between Europe and Asia.
Just been looking at pictures of the movement and its astonishing, nice one

You gave excellent taste. They are all quite stylish and unique looking pieces.
I have a weakness for watches. Especially ones with a 24 hour dial. Not everyone’s cup of tea but they are mine. This is new to me. A self gift on the basis that from this month I receive a state pension. Shocked. Botta is a German watchmaker that specialises in 24 hour watches; both two handed and single handed (just the hour hand). Of course, when the hands only traverse once a day then there is a choice: 12 on top or 24 on top. I prefer 12 on top because the top half of the dial is broadly daylight. This is a 45mm dial but it sits comfortably and the larger size means there is a space to make the dial quite clean in design terms.
