Your Watch & Naim

Thanks on both counts.

I know, it’s madness.

I’ve posted it elsewhere myself, and I’ve also allowed it fo be used on one or two websites. It is indeed my copyright, though :+1: (I actually do a bit of commercial watch photography)

Indeed the picture is superb, no idea about the watch which is far too expensive to even want it.

A homage as close looking as possible however..

Slightly ironic given that this is a forum where members regularly spend well into six figures on hi-fi components

(Not to be taken seriously - we each make our own decisions on where we want to spend - or in this case, park - our money.)

I’m not a watch collector but I’ve just inherited these, although I don’t know much about them. The Omega I’m pretty sure is a 1970’s model and I suspect the Bulova (new name to me) is of a similar age. Neither appear to work so will need a trip to the local experts I suppose - may do that with the Omega and check the cost as I could see myself wearing that but the Bulova is a bit big and clingy for my taste.

Nice.

Bulova Accutrons are highly sought-after collector pieces, famous for their revolutionary 1960s tuning fork movements and distinctive “hum”.
Battery Requirements: Original Caliber 214 and 218 movements were designed for 1.3-volt mercury batteries. Using modern 1.5-volt batteries can damage the delicate coils, meaning most functioning pieces require battery restrictors or professional servicing.

Interesting. I didn’t realise the Bulova had a battery. It came with a watch winder so thought it was similar to the Omega. Sounds as though it might be expensive to sort out but I’ll get some estimates.

I never use a watch winder just wind it to get working no point working and wearing it out if not required.
It’s quite a rarity in good nick.
Take care. :+1:

I was sort of expecting such comment.

Thing is - and I can’t really explain why - I’d never pay Rolex money for a watch, even I have mega expensive- or cheapskate hifi.

My max cost for a new watch is around €1k.

(I may however choose a new limit if lotto comes in  )

Like that a lot, especially on the Jubilee.

Yes, I do agree. It’s very comfortable and it gives it an air of refinement over the oyster and you just forget you’re wearing it. It’s a lovely watch and I’m very pleased with. Well worth the wait.

Certaily, I must stress I have nothing against whatever people spend.
