Are you suggesting that poor n-lot might be a Nigel? The shame!
Isnât he? Well, I always thought he was a Nigel. Apologies to him if thatâs not the case. I meant no offence.
See what youâve done? Canât get that damn song off my head now! ![]()
The funny thing is that when eight of us visited Naim last November, three of us were Nigels. Men of a certain age, united in having a crap name. Our friend @n-lot was also there; being much younger and also Dutch, he is definitely not a Nigel.
Ooops, sorry @n-lot .
To make up for getting your name wrong here is a photo of a 2025 Dutch watch.
1969 Deltaworks (2025) Grönefeld currently retailing at £45k.
Lovely watch. ![]()

No offence taken.
Fully agree that theyâre different watches and itâs down to personal taste. I just find something off about the Patek, but judging by itâs general admiration I fully appreciate that thatâs just me ![]()
I like the new Panerai collection, so much so that I picked up the 1731 which is only a tiny 44mm.
The 47mm watches are big, you think that that extra 3mm wouldnât make much difference but it does, I tried a few 47mm watches, including the 31 day movement and whilst they fitted my wrist Iâm not sure I could live with them long term, they are lovely though.
At the other end of the scale. I have had this as my gardening watch for about 30 years and it has been rock solid all that time.
In a similar vein this is about 25 years old. It runs on light and the lume is a good today as when it was new. Itâs with me in France, what with the JLC being stuck in transit.
I have one too and itâs my work watch but they were released in 2012.
Blimey. I must be losing my sense of time. It feels like much longer. I thought my 38mm was much older.
I did have to check though, I did a double take when I read 25yrs. Great watch
Here is a watch from a time when the world seemed to be a simpler place. It is a Russian Poljot (Buran) with a built-in alarm. It is unbelievably unreliable, and when the alarm starts ringing, it feels like the recoil of a Kalashnikov. Even so, I have a soft spot for this watch. After all, it cannot be blamed for the sad geopolitical situation we are facing today.
well.. every little (even if only horological: ) atrocity matters
The Radiomir Quaranta is lovely.
Still wearing the SD4K today⊠been wearing it for more than a week, actually, which is becoming the norm for me these days.
Have a good weekend when it comes.
Brilliant pic of a brilliant watchâ![]()
SD4K weâre not made for very long. 3 ? years. No idea why Rolex stopped. They even had to discount the last ones !
Iâm pretty sure Iâve seen that photo before. ![]()
Of course, Tony has the copyright.![]()
