Remains my favourite comedy film of all time
Audi dealerships are still closed - a spokesman was asked for a reopening date but he said he couldn’t give any indication.
Not really a joke as such, but I’ve been looking through some lecture notes on particle physics and it was striking how many of the slide titles could be the names of groups or albums either in experimental jazz, electronica or prog rock. What do you think:
- Quark Mixing Angles
- Important Complementarity
- Lepton Flavour Violation
- Isospin Symmetry
- Pseudoscalar Meson Nonet
- Neutral Kaon Mixing
- Dynamic generation of BAU
- The Renormalizable Theory of Weak Interaction
IIRC, the Pseudoscalar Meson Nonet’s drummer left in the late 70s to form Dynamic Generation of BAU, just after their seminal album Important Complementarity. Didn’t he then have a second career as a DJ specialising in Neutral Kaon Mixing?
And of course Quark, Strangeness and Charm.
No, they were a Latvian surrealist comedy trio.
Unfortunately didn’t get the recognition they deserved, as they all played in a vacuum.
I always felt a strong attraction to them, I thought more people would have lepton the bandwagon.
I thought that was the BMW dealership!
Not sure about Audi, but Aldi often give clear indications.
Anyone else quite fancy Shatner?
I’ve don’t know who any of them are but if it’s the top photo I’m on board.
I’m a Spock guy…
Some of you really have been in lockdown for too long. Next, your household appliances will start looking attractive. Be careful next time you get the vacuum cleaner out - that’s the last thing A&E needs right now.
‘Yes, doctor, I was reading the Naim forum, wearing a loose-fitting dressing gown, when suddenly…’
I’m going more towards having a Melveran mud flea vaccination.
You should read Adam Kaye’s book “This is going to hurt” if you want to laugh at what really happens.

A brilliant book. I can recommend it, too. Made me laugh out loud
My father’s a retired medic… I’ve probably heard it all (and the unexpurgated versions) before! He worked most of his career in a rural context, so there’s more than a few stories…
