Throb by Gary Burton a very eclectic mix with some country leanings and some wonderful Michael Gibbs compositions a much neglected release .

Yes about 1972, Escalator Over the Hill was recorded between 1968โ€“1971.

Of course, Iโ€™ve not heard every jazz album, but this album stands head and shoulders above any jazz album I have heard. Anything bearing the two words โ€œCarlaโ€ and โ€œBleyโ€ is bound to be interesting and worth a listen, but Escalator is her masterpiece.

Yes Miles Davisโ€™s Bitches Brew is very good album, but Escalator takes Jazz to another level and off in to places jazz had never aspired to before and possibly never will again.

The music is fantastic, the libretto magnificent, the cast splendid and the musicianship is as good as it gets if not better. Have a look at WikiPedia for full details,

If you havenโ€™t heard Escalator then you really must, the penalty for not so doing is you risk life without hearing the pinnacle of modern jazz.

Just for any avoidance of doubt, I like this album.
