From 1969, one of the greatest jazz albums of all time…

The Joe Harriott and Amancio D’Silva Quartet and Hum Dono.

An original pressing is an expensive thing indeed, but don’t worry too much because the good news is that Vocalion reissued this on vinyl a few years back and it’s still available to buy for less than £15 (they did a CD too…).

I checked it on youtube, seems to be amazingly well recorded, sounds like an ECM recording. I will look for the original. Thanks for posting. Not too crazy about the singer but ok…

it’s a bit unstructured for my taste. More free jazz style.

I’ve no idea what this is like, but Tidal is my friend and I’ll soon find out.

Love the Erik Truffaz albums

If you can get hold of a copy of Richard Morton Jack’s Galactic Ramble then it’s worth reading the review of Hum Dono.

a fusion of jazz and indian music, like in HUM DONO above, but more structured ( more my taste).
