Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, Ca.; Spring and Fall 1975

Thanks indeed for this recommendation Richard. I’ve a fairly broad collection but this has passed me by for some reason.

I can see why some might find it a tricky listen but it treads the β€˜tight but loose’ line just perfectly to my mind.

Hi FR
Just played that Les McCann LP again.
It’s a great recording.
I think the version on Tidal is based on a recent remastering of some kind, but it sounds excellent.

Peace Beyond Passion, I don’t know if it is Jazz…but it is one of my all time favorite albums, a Masterpiece.

it’s fusion. bennie maupin, oliver lake, david fuczynski, wah wah watson…come from jazz . Not always easy to classify.

This one, with wallace roney, don byron, cassandra wilson …is also very good. Jazz for me.

That looks interesting!

i like most scofield albums, but not the fusion ones from the 80’s. Apart when he appears with Miles Davis in the 80’s, my favorite with him.

check this one, it’s my personal favorite;
