Bi-amping with Supernait 2 plus Hi-CAP PSU and NAP250 DR

What type of ferrite caps have you put on the Ethernet cable?

Hi.

Normals and currents, adapted to the diameter of the AQ Cinnamon, purchased from Amazon; one to the input to the NAS and one to the input to the streamer. I do not know if the Forum rules allow such links, but the moderator will already say if necessary:

Ferrite Claps

In fact, I don’t notice any perceived difference in SQ with or without the ferrite claps, as with or without the shungite. But, although I still smoke and epidemiological research is not yet conclusive, I prefer to apply the criterion of prudence, more so with my 4-year-old son up and down, and I have a shungite pyramid near of each one of the four HIFI systems at home; I have a couple of acquaintances with testicle cancer, who usually carried the blissful smartphone in the front pocket of the trousers, and in both diagnoses, medical teams have pointed to the issue as a possibly related bad practice…

Those speakers will struggle with anything below a Nap 300 in a large room
biamp is a no-go, any dealer would only recommend biamp, looking at the profit side

They would probably, certainly, improve enormously with NAP300, and that would be the idea if NAIM were about the task of updating the NAC272 within a reasonable time lapse; but the reality is that SQ is already awesome in the current configuration.

On the other hand, in my experience, passive biamplification can give very good results depending on the speakers and if well done; and these K6, at ProAc’s discretion, offer good results in passive biamplification.

From the SN3 review in Hi-Fi+:

The amplifier provided a lot of drive for rhythm sections and an infectious groove from the speakers, which in the first instance were Bowers & Wilkins 802 D3. These proved a pricey but very revealing partner for this amp and one that it seemed quite comfortable driving.

Considering that the SN3 improvement over SN2 seems clearly much more incremental than that of the SN2 over the SN1, and that B&W 802 D3 and ProAc K6 play basically in the same league, perhaps someone should tell to the good of Kennedy that SN3 is not good enough to drive those speakers, than the Stack Link streamer via iFi Pro iDSD DAC is not a source to match for those speakers and integrated, and that his system is not balanced; or perhaps speakers according to the room and of the best possible quality are the first condition for a resolutive system, and the best guarantee for SQ…

I don’t know… All I know is that I am delighted with the SQ that I have achieved with the configuration of this system, that it’s sounding better and better each day and that, as soon as these terrible storms due to Dorian’s boreal return to Europe and so anomalous here at this time of the year pass, I will enjoy the cuteness again with my music.

Cheers.

LAST UPDATE.

Last week I’ve added some AC-Power conditioning. Given the good synergy that can be seen in the forum with Naim electronics, my choice has finally been IsoTek EVO3 Sirius, a strip power bar which, as you know, protects and improves audio components by removing Common Mode and Differential Mode mains noise and by filtering RFI.

Although I guess, like anything that involves wiring, it requires some run in period, I still haven’t noticed a really huge improvement. As it settles, however, I do note a little more detail, a slight opening soundstage, a slightly more precise and focused bass and some more air among instruments; yes, a slightly more focused and coherent sound, but not a barbarity, which leads me to think that, fortunately, my area, and my power lines and mains, which are relatively new and of medium-high quality, sour few RFI and EMI problems, and that SQ was already very good at the start.

In any case, a slight leap forward in SQ and a good protection against lightning and voltage spikes that is always welcome given the increasing weather volatility and the Naim and, above all, the forum recommendation to maintain electronics permanently on (the truth is at first I miss a stand by function).

Finally, I have ordered a couple of 10 mm thick tempered glass templates, to locate them, isolated with the Isoacoustics Oreas, under the SN2 and the main sources, to check with my ears if the recommendation introduce another SQ leap forward in my system and configuration, although I must point out that it sounds already impressive, with that quality that you find hard to stop listening, turn it off and go do other things.

I’ll tell you when I can install and test them…

Anyway, greetings to the forum.

Hi @newcomer

Hi, @anon93526344.

Yes, I’ll see.

Although, for the time being, neither SN2 nor SN3; the crystals should come today, but waiting for the SN3 and, as I point out, without news for the moment…

I believe the best way to assemble them is, from the base of the furniture where they will reside, and from the bottom up: Orea Indigo (3), 10mm thick tempered glass sheet and, directly above the tempered glass, SN3.

I’ll take some pics and upload them.

Cheers.

Hi all.

Finally the SN3 and NDX2 just arrived yesterday; this morning we were able to install them, and a while ago the NDX2 completely configured.

Right now starting to ring; very good sound aut of the box, but new integrated, new streamer and new cable (Signature Tuned Aray DIN-DIN), it misses a good settlement and, I hope not too long, run in.

Everything’s perfect at the moment.

As soon as the system is settling and ran in, I’ll upload pictures, comparison with SN2 and comments…

Greetings to the forum.

Hi Newcomer.

You might find that getting rid of the funny chair/ table between the listening position and your speakers might blow all upgrade thoughts out of the window

I would retire the little table between the speakers. The wonderful view you have on the garden would be more clear . Only music inside…

Hi, @PeterR.

Fantastic system, and fantastic room; enjoy it.

Thanks for you recommendation, it sounds wonderful like that. Personally I love mine now that it is finished (and cross my fingers so that I have a future with it without problems): fantastic speakers, fantastic integrated amplifier, fantastic sources, fantastic wiring, and fantastic stay; all world class. In addition, I consider myself tremendously fortunate, and a privileged, to find myself, by chance by birth, among the 15% of the world’s population that can depose a new housing of 250 square meters; among the 5% who can have a room of almost 50 square meters practically for my leisure and solitary reflection and thinking; and among the 1% that can have and enjoy several HIFI systems, this, the main one, of more than 40K; and all without the slightest debt.

Cheers.

Still being healthy is what is worth most of all, money or not (had cancer 3 years ago…)

You’re absolutely right, @Blackbird.

I’m really sorry.

I know what’s close: my father and father-in-law have died of cancer in a matter of three months this horrible year, my father on July 25 and my father-in-law on October 23.

Personally I have already faced death three times in 51 years: the first time with 3 and a half old, the second time with 35 old, and the third with 45 old; I hope to have 5 like cats…, although them have left a significant degree of disability.

A lot of encouragement, and try to take good care of you.

Cheers.
