The Grandaddy of them all…
Breaking Bad. Groundbreaking and totally addictive.
Real hardcore watchers can wait until “Better Call Saul” comes to an end and link the prequel to watch both all the way through… ![]()

Definitely my all time favorite show (BB), and (BCS) is not far behind. The last season of Saul really started to be more breaking bad like, which was excellent. Like you said, one more season to link the two show’s together, hopefully we will see more or Walter White next season, and maybe Jesse and Hank. I am hoping that after Saul ends, Vince will continue where the El Camino movie left off with another series.
Kim Wexler. That’s all I’m saying… ![]()

The daddy. Mad Men.
Brilliant writing, acting, photography, story arcs, costuming, art direction, sound, use of music… and best of all, everyone smokes and drinks. All the time.
Latest Cardinal on iPlayer, gripping all the way through. Tbb loved all seasons so far it’s a very atmospheric show, but boy it makes you feel cold. Canadian winters are harsh. Brrrrrr! It’s also helped by Agnes Obel theme tune.
Series 3 of Dark just landed. Mind blowing as before…
Here we go again, then … you there, at the back, sit up and pay attention!
I’ve not watched it, worth investigating?
You coped with the invasive electronic ‘mood effect’ sounds layered over the action then? They did seem to reduce it as the episodes progressed…or perhaps I became deaf to it.

I’ve really enjoyed all series, on par with Ozark, but very different. Strong acting, story and quality production.
Cheers, have a look late tonight. ![]()
I thoroughly enjoyed series 1 and then lost the enthusiasm on series 2, may revisit it.
Cant say I noticed it.
Yet to start this season. No spoilers pleae.
Yes it’s brilliant. But make sure to turn on subs and native German, the dubbing just kills it.
Fortunately some writers know how to stop when they’re ahead - too many don’t, more’s the pity!
At my wife’s insistence I watched the first 4 episodes of The Crown on Netflix last night. To my astonishment I rather enjoyed it! Acting and production were first rate, and it seemed pretty spot-on historically. As a royalist agnostic I’d give it 8/10.
It’s way better than I expected it to be.
Having stumbled across a Korean series on Netflix a few months ago (posted here), we thought we’d try another: Shopaholic Louis. It started off a little wacky, but soon started to bite, and we were hooked: all 16 episodes in a week. Basically a rom-com about someone who loses his memory in an accident. starts off enjoyable enough but a bit uncertain - then it starts to bite. Not as good as Chocolate, which was quite remarkable, but nonetheless enjoyable.
