Cables - WH Morgana - Blown away

It’s been so long I’ve almost forgotten they are arriving, hopefully in January.
I was so impressed with the phantom cable that when people started talking about how good spectre was I couldn’t resist.

It is to me as I thought the kudos cable was a bit thin compared to the phantom and my speakers are 707s.

Hi Nick or anybody, could you please tell me if you have to twist the CH1 (white) mono Morgana cable 180 degrees for the din or XLR to fit when using 135/300/500 or PS.
Mind arrived a couple of weeks ago, for the life of me CH1 needs to be twisted 180 for the plug to fit, the red ch2 is the same as the Naim cables. My system is racked vertically.

Sound wise excellent, first time I have tried an outside company that doesn’t take more than it gives to the Naim DNA.

My 2 lines up in much the same way, after the flexing and being annoyed that usually applies with thick cables. I find Burndys more annoying fwiw…

Thanks Nick, Sorry i need it spelled out and im sorry to bother you.
I would imagine that being mono cables both would have the same build. Cable 2 comes out of my SC and straight down to the 135 plugs into the xlr with out any persuasion, however cable 1 comes out of the SC and needs to be twisted 180 to fit the the 135 which give the cable a “S” shape, one end of that cable has had a plug attached the exact opposite to the other cable. My OCD is having issues with it, if yours are the same then its Witch Hats build and not my misfortune.

Just give the cable itself a little twist so it hangs right

My layout is messier than yours. As far as I can see, the two started out with the same plug orientation, but there’s enough twist it doesn’t look like that now. A quick call to Mitch at WH?

How long did you try out the KS-1? I found mine thinner at first compared to the Phantom but they have filled out very nicely in the last few weeks. There is so much more midrange magic and delicacy that I can’t go back to Phantoms.

Both great cables so it’s all down to taste

Important to have naim plugs at the amp end ime.

I’ve heard the Kudos cable on one or two systems and on each occasion I didn’t find them as musical as the phantom. All the systems were the same or similar to my own. I just found the phantom offered more. I thought the kudos were fine but preferred the sound of the phantom.

Ahhh. I thought you tried them at home in your own system. Which is really the only way to know for sure. Either way the good news is your happy with what you have!

Your cable dressing  leaves me feeling embarrassed at the state of mine. Another job to procrastinate over!

He he, lp12 is my only source component so it’s easier to keep it tidy.

I’m not in the UK, I’ve have had several pleasant email exchanges. I’m told it makes no audible difference and it is the standard plug orientation.
They do sound wonderful, however I’d be keen to have one of cable 1’s plug remounted 180 so the cable hangs without tension other than its own weight.
I’ve always been under the impression Naim sound better with relaxed cables.
I’d like to believe that everybody else who has this set has the same plug orientation, it just seems really strange to have one plug out of whack compared to the other.
Pls don’t see my post as a troll to WH as I really like what they do. Just a very small trust issue with CS atm.
The reason could because of Naims socket configuration and reasonably nuggety Morgana internal cables. Whatever the reason it’s not been forthcoming.
Thanks

Hey Dunc, I’m happy the way it sits other than the 180 degrees of necessary cable twist.

Morgana seems to be starting to perform after a few days of system playing at low level constantly. Definitely sounds much more open and dynamic now. Will give it another week or two and then compare with stock cable to be sure I’m happy.

Similar here - tried various and at one point “full loom” WH, but now settled back with full Naim.

If it’s Witch Hat shouldn’t that be the “full broom”?

Good point! I imagine one could also then evaluate if there was any “Room in the Loom” for WH.

I certainly enjoy my full morgana loom and found it helped free up the sound just like the chord music cables do, but at a much cheaper price.
