Would people watch both Tours if they ran simultaneously? I mean at the grounds. There is some player overlap too.
Not sure it works but these are the sort of ideas that might need trying. ODI Internationals seem to be dying, I would settle for that if healthy Test cricket survived, albeit reluctantly.
England only needed 5.4 and over yesterday. They are not going to win many matches against top teams batting like they do. Very frustrating. Brook got a good ball but again so many self inflicted wickets. Apparently it is ok getting out of you take the positive option. Utter bollox.
‘Having a waft’ appears to be acceptable now, and with 50 overs, you’d think batsmen could ‘have a look’ before going for a higher-risk shot, often manufactured - but, no. England are playing this series like an extended T20 IMO, against a very good bowling side.
…surely, with the ball not offering much help > 10 overs or so, some more conventional batting is required?
Not much good the commentators celebrating good cover driving, when a batsmen only plays a couple in a frustratingly short innings.
England have gone from Bazball to Waftball no matter which form of cricket.
If it continues the tv companies could well see their viewing figures drop which will be more interesting than the current ODI series.
Eng v Aussies - 3rd ODI today (Durham). The England side continues to look 2 quality batsmen light to me.

No spoilers re the score, other than to say my money is already on the Ausssies (sadly), as they have built an innings here, with a lot of restraint at times, and some luck.
Australia giving a lesson in how to pace a 50 over innings. England unablecto resist bowling short. I think we have covered this before; Australian batsmen generally like it short to hit square.
