But I do like Joe.
An Australian brewery is running a campaign called “stay in your crease” with the laws of the game printed on the can. It’d be so much more fun if Johnny was here
How good is Starc.
Or Root
I’ve always enjoyed a Root.
I was hoping England could finish their innings so that Australia had to start under lights. Tomorrow.
Maybe tonight.
Bruce
Roooooooot!!!
400 wickets at 4 wickets a Test, an average under 27, phenomenal strike rate of 46. That’s world-class.
Roooooooooot! Craaaaaaaaaawly! Aaaaaaaaaaarcher!
Gesundheit.
(Well it sounded like a sneeze to me anyway.)
I hope Brook was made to watch Root bat.
Really pleased for Root.
I think that’s a decent day for England but Crawley, Pope, Brook, Stokes and Jacks amongst the batsmen could all be said to have got themselves out. Loved the final flourish, just as Stokes was thinking about declaring!
No real demons in the pitch though, it will only be at the end of tomorrow that we can judge how good that score is.
Carey ‘kept brilliantly stood up, and good catches too.
Bruce
Pleased for Root, head in hands for Brook and Pope; what was that Stokes said about absorbing pressure. Looking forward to watching the highlights later.
A sneeze in Norfolk UK is more aaaaarchoo. Anyway 325 for 9 is a half decent score and the 9th wicket stand must have caused some frustration for the Aussies.
Well, it didn’t take long this morning – and where’s Alan Knott when you need him most ![]()
Knott - now there was a class keeper and batsman. With his weird pads.
Remember seeing him keeping for Kent.
Woke up with a cold, feeling mehh on a cold, dark morning.
Thought I could at least catch some Australian sunshine.
Alright up to 0-30.
Now I’m not sure how much more of this I can watch.
Edit. Ah ![]()
Not just batting but bowling needs to be smarter. Fair to Australia but no discipline or control with the ball. Hope they use the break to have some hard words.
Bad drop, didn’t cost much but heads went down.
Need to be in the match at twilight, and with the bowlers not too knackered.
Bruce
Where is the good length ball? Archer is our only economical bowler. As I write, Wetherall is dismissed LBW. Thank God for that. So our bowlers need to capitalise on this and up their game. I wonder what Jimmy and Stuart are thinking about our bowling attack in this test.
Aussies just motoring on at 5+ an over. You guys sound miserable but I’m enjoying it. ![]()
