Pete, Cam Green needs to take a 12 m break from everything. Get his head and form right and reset everything.

His form is shot in every department and at every level, Test, Shield, T20 etc.

Why they keep selecting him is frankly bizarre.

I know he’s not alone in the lack of form ,but he’s the standout….

This is the future Pete. When all the over 35’s move on from the Test team that is no Hazlewod, Boland, Starc, Lyon or Smith. Khawaja has already gone. Carey is 34, Cummins at 32 has injury issues, Labuschagne and Head are the same age but probably OK for a bit however the clock is ticking.

Totally agree re Cam Green. Seems to have been the future for a while now. However considering the size of his IPL contract I doubt a break will come any time soon.

Time to rebuild and start again, also it’s good for the sport. Not much fun when the same team (country) keeps dominating.

We’ll rest on a great Ashes series win and be back soon. :upside_down_face:

Great match between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. I still think of Zimbabwe as minnows, but that’s wrong these days, at least in the shorter forms.

I’m still struggling a bit with the idea of a pre-seeded Super 8, in my mind it makes more sense to base it on the first round.

Only 1 match today. I’ve got very used to the 3 match a day schedule. I’m going to have to remember how to have a life during the day now it’s ended

England finding batting hard work against SL.

At the interval I was going to comment that England looked about 30 short. Shows what I know.

So are SL.

Wow. Hit Wicket in a World Cup match, not something I remember seeing before.

I had the radio commentary on. Was that a bit village all round?

I wasn’t particularly paying much attention to the game but is it time for an age old phrase?

Never comment on a pitch until both sides have batted on it.

Watching the Big Bash there are some highly competent young Aussie cricketers , hopefully they will get their opportunity some time soon

Yeah it’s a pity they didn’t take some to the WC :upside_down_face:

Sounds like another scratchy England T20 performance but they are in the semi finals.

Yes, Brook was excellent batting at 3. Buttler batting in lead boots, he will not move his feet. Some of the others were trying to find out what happens when you hit the ball in the air to where the fielders are.

An important win though.

England are somehow winning while playing badly. If the batting fires they’ll probably lose. I was starting to believe that we could lose this one at the end, second SBT ending in 6 matches.

But what a great knock from Brook.

England in the semis saves McCullum’s job? Discuss.

Bruce

Probably not, it will need a series win, and I can’t see India losing.

Unless they choke as a result of home expectations

They were well beaten by SA though. That illustrates my general low interest in this tournament and format. T20 games are so one-dimensional, without any time for ebb and flow so you can get pretty random results. I would have thought the final at least could be a best of 3, but maybe we’ll have all had enough by then anyway.
