Older fans have very fond memories from his time managing Palace. Top bloke by all accounts
Wasnāt he the most expensive British player at one point?
Yep and then I think Steve Daly was next when he moved to Wolves
Was the first million pound signing. For Forest.
Very sad.
No such thing as a friendly for Ten Haagās United after targeting Saka the other night nearly causing serious injury their youngsters punctured the lung of Wrexhamās Mullin and another player got a straight red for another challenge.
The refās quite rightly let more challenges go last season and the league was the better for it letās hope that teams donāt take that as a sign to just take out the opposition or we could end up regressing back to previous seasons where a strained eyelash would get a free kick.
Looks like Joe Lewis at Spurs is going to spend more money on his defence than on the teamās defenceā¦
The BBC on to it fastā¦
Joe Lewis: Tottenham Hotspur owner charged over alleged insider trading - BBC News
Sadly, typical of the Beeb, they fail to do their homework. Joe Lewis doesnāt own Spurs. Not since last year.
Probably a Gooner journalist.
Sounds like some of these players need to man up! Always thought saka was Bambi on ice

āFamily trustā, according to the Beeb this evening. Which would pretty much amount to the same thing.
The Arsenal came from behind to beat a very strong Barcelona side 5-3. Goals from Kai Havertz, Trossard, Fabio Viera and Bukayo Saka who could have had a hat trick but for a missed penalty.
Up front we where very, very good but all three of Barcelona goals came from our defensive mistakes although Barcelona where very good on the counter with goals from Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Torres.
So far this pre season Leandro Trossard has been excellent scoring some cracking goals and getting a man of the match against Barca.
Jude Bellingham scored a worldy for Real Madrid after just 6 minutes as Man U found their level last night another raft of yellow cards and another horror tackle from Martinez this time on Jude Bellingham couldnāt save United from a comprehensive 2-0 loss. It says a lot when Unitedās best player by a long way was Andre Onana on his debut he looks to be an excellent signing.
It looks like Ten Haag is deploying Martinez in his old Ajax role, a role that earned him his Butcher of Amsterdam name. There is definitely a place for that type of player in the modern game where teams look to transition very quickly from defence to attack but Iām not sure Martinez is good enough a tackler too often, too late. No doubt he is a very good defender despite his diminutive size but he could find himself on yellow cards early on in too many games.

Only a draw for Chelsea with Newcastle last night, though both teams played with intent.
There is clearly a bit of excitement around Nicolas Jackson, itās early days and heās not Haaland v2.0 but, if he can adapt to the Prem reasonably speedily, I have high hopes. Maatsen may well find himself staying with the team this season. Nkunkuās in, Humphreys and Casadei may make it this season too.
Still have doubts about Chalobah, heās probably going to make a mistake most games and Cuccu is still unreliable too.
We defo. need a typical big English CB and a strong midfielder with a few years in the Prem behind him, Terry and Makelele would be ideal! Other than that though, not looking too shabby once Poch has whittled the squad down to his preferred 24.
Get your own jokes
If you had to sell either Chalobah or Cucurella who would you sell?
Both.
Plenty of left/full backs in the team already.
Must be able to find a better, fit CB than Trevor.
Iāve a feeling that Wesley Fofana is going to be one of those with recurring injury issues and, either way, heās crocked for this season and likely will never be as fit as he was.
