English Premier League Season 2023/24

It’s just been reported that the Cheats have pulled out of the race to sign Declan Rice.

They pulled out because he had no intention of going there in the first place.

I can hear the banter now you paid too much, he’s over priced, is no good anyway.

That all could well be true but you cannot deny Arsenal’s ambition and determination to build the club up.

Two weeks into this window we have almost definitely signed Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz and fingers crossed Lavia is next.

I think Lavia would be a particularly good signing. I was impressed with him every time I saw Southampton play - and he’s only 19.

Yes hopefully we can get him though Liverpool are now showing an interest too.

Hearing the name AFC Croydon somehow brings to mind AFC Richmond…

Indeed!

The price is what the price is Bob. I had an inkling all along that he would stay in London; he’s a smashing player and I think you’ve got a great signing there.

I know and we would take old slab head he would make a great crossbar we could even make him Captain.

Citeh are going to regret pulling out of race for Declan. I mean, their midfield’s not great is it?

Yep. If that De Bruyne fella can get into it, anyone can… :grinning:

But don’t be so sure City have pulled out of the Rice race. They don’t want to get dragged into a bidding war, so they are testing what Rice wants.

If Rice says he wants City, it doesn’t matter what Arsenal bid. If he wants Arsenal, then he’s…err… well, dumb.

Tell you who he doesn’t want: Spurs. Him and that Harry Kane both, apparently.

As Grauniad pointed out, Kane will have to learn to say ‘ja, nein’ in every post-match interview

Nah, with “Offensichtlich”, Timber will have everything covered, obviously, yeah.

If the Arse want to pay £105m+ for Rice, then who are humble, European trophy winners West Ham to argue?

Only problem is, how does Moyesiah spend all that lovely money – and stop the porn dwarf spaffing it on a big-name has been?

A little help for Timber. Say this: Schiedsrichter, er hat mir auf den Rücken geblasen. Es muss eine Strafe sein.

If Google Translate is to be believed, it means: Referee, he blew on my back. It must be a penalty.

It’s highly amusing listening to the mixed opinions regarding Declan Rice’s almost certain move to Arsenal.

West Ham have apparently now pulled a Cockney Geezer type fast one on Arsenal mugging them for £100 million pounds yet if he’d gone to the Cheats for £10 million less that would have been entirely different.

According to Spuds supporters who today pulled off the audacious signing of James Madison (because neither the Cheats, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal or Newcastle wanted him) Declan Rice is dumb for choosing Arsenal over the Cheats.

I mean why would he want to go to a team and play alongside William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus to be coached by one of the most talented young coaches in world football dumb that.

I mean, why would you want to go to a team and play alongside De Bruyne, Haaland, Grealish, Mahrez and countless others and be coached by the best coach in the world football? Especially when you can go to the Spursiest non-Spud team in the league, not win in Europe for the foreseeable future and be called “Deccy” by the most deluded bunch of muggy fans outside of N17?

Still if it all goes tits up at the Library, “Deccy” can flee Captain Black’s clutches after two or three years and go elsewhere. He’ll only be 26 or 27 and will still have the chance to win something.

Ask your ex captain because he’s now going to become an Arsenal player according to both the Athletic and the Guardian.

The reason The Cheats pulled out was because they where told that Declan Rice wanted to go Arsenal and unlike Chelsea last January they sensibly where not prepared to pay a huge amount for a player who didn’t want to play for them.

All you Arsenal haters are ridiculous you would rather see the Cheats totally dominate this league by being allowed to keep hoovering up every world class British player and turn the PL into the Bundesliga, La Liga or Ligue Un.

Why not back a team who are at least having a go and trying to at least keep the league competitive instead of dominated by team facing 115 FFP charges.

The Gunners mean business the first and third biggest signings in Arsenal history have come this week.

Rice and Havertz are to form part of Arteta’s new look midfield.

Muggy we’ve just taken your Captain less than a month after you’ve won your first trophy in over 40 years!

Hope you’ve got some great memories of that parade your going to need them.
