Very good.
For the FOURTH time this season, Soucek saves our blushes with a last-gasp winning goal in Serbia this evening.
Despite the (thoroughly undeserved) win it was a dreadful performance by the Tartan Diego Simeoneâs Massive Euro Cup Winning Cockney Bastards and I feel sorry for the poor sods who schlepped all the way out there to watch that farce.
At least you are through Kev and @SiBrightonâs Super Seagulls thatâs at least three forum members teams are 100% through and hopefully a fourth @AndyBlainâs Newcastle look likely to proceed.
Man Utd need a bit of a miracle against Bayern.
Fingers crossed Bob, not easy, but we have a chance. And well done Brighton and West Ham. Two very differing managers; Moyes effective and old school; De Zerbi risky, innovative and exciting. Good luck as the journey goes onâŚ
@Bobthebuilder @Andyblain cheers guys. Still havenât managed an away game yet ! So getting through to the knockout rounds provides opportunity. Sounded like we rode our luck tonight. But a win is a winđ.
Dates set for the Cheats case to be heard late Autumn next year and findings at the end of 24/25 season. Their rhetoric is that they have unequivocal evidence that are not guilty of all charges and are eager to prove their innocence but from a lay person totally not versed in the law Iâd ask why did they employ delaying tactics through 2018-2021 through several appeal processes trying to get the case thrown out/ delayed?
This from the Guardian in July 2021.

"Manchester City have lost a ruling by the court of appeal, which confirms that the Premier League is continuing to investigate the champions for alleged breaches of financial fair play, with one of the judges stating part of the clubâs argument was âentirely fancifulâ.
Cityâs legal team did not want it reported that it was challenging the jurisdiction of Premier League arbitrators to investigate the case and that it was also fighting a request to disclose documents and information to the panel."
The three-judge court of appeal dismissed Cityâs argument. One of these, Sir Julian Flaux, the chancellor of the high court, said: âThe suggestion that press interest and speculation might disrupt the investigation or the arbitration, where both are being conducted by experienced professionals, is entirely fanciful. Likewise the suggestion that press comment and speculation following publication might damage the clubâs relations with commercial partners was unconvincing.
âAs Lord Justice Males [one of the other two judges] said during the course of argument, any potential commercial partner with whom the club might enter a contract would be bound to conduct due diligence, which would reveal the existence of the investigation and the dispute.â
As the arbitration was public knowledge the clubâs argument that it cannot have a fair hearing was also dismissed. â[This] would seem to be a non-lawyerâs interpretation of the allegation of apparent bias,â Sir Julian said.
City strongly deny any wrongdoing regarding financial fair play. The Premier League supported the clubâs argument regarding confidentiality but with the caveat that the league in the future âshould be free to rely on and disclose the Merits Judgment in other arbitration proceedings against other member clubsâ.
However, the court ruled this was actually a counterproductive argument. âIt is difficult to envisage a more eloquent demonstration as to why publication of the Merits Judgment is in the public interest,â Sir Julian said.
Lord Justice Males noted the time that had elapsed since the Premier League launched its investigation. âThis is an investigation which commenced in December 2018. It is surprising, and a matter of legitimate public concern, that so little progress has been made after two and a half years â during which, it may be noted, the club has twice been crowned as Premier League champions,â he said.
Most pertinent post of the day.
Great article and only time will tell the real outcome.
Flying start from the Young Gunners Wolves are very lucky to get in at half time just 2-0 down.
Another 3 points for The Arsenal still on top.
Desperately hanging on, at home, against WolvesâŚ
And their fans expect to win the league (they deny it but they do).
Wolves are an excellent team under OâNeill. No-one really cares about performance. The idea you can or will be scintillating every week is nonsense and ultimately no-one cares. Performances are memorable but donât win titles. Points do. Some fans will come out of some games like this moaning with a severe case of the âwhat ifsâ. The majority will go âwell we found a way to win.â
Last season the Arsenal hate campaign was quite loud and used to get to me a bit itâs now actually quite funny and much less loud a bit like an embarrassing fart .
One thing is for sure last season wasnât just a flash in the pan.
Thatâs because Arsenal are shâŚ!
Oh dear thatâs funny and just to easy to retaliate!
Everton showed plenty of spirit at Forest this evening. Dominated the majority of the game. Carry on playing like that and they should survive their 10-point deduction.
Big win for the Toffees against Forest lifting them off the bottom.
Without the 10 points deduction weâd be sitting in 11th place now, which after the last few seasons Iâd be quite happy with. I do still think weâll stay up.
As a Forest fan, I think Everton certainly deserve to.
