When you say ‘picked out’, do you mean you physically removed the internal PS components from the 8TC-L switch after you started using this external LPS?
Or did you somehow turn off the power to the internal smps?
And also, are you able to use either an LPS or SMPS interchangeably on the same switch, as long as it supplies the correct voltage and amperage?
Also, did you use the Voltcraft because it’s cheaper than an audio LPS, or because it’s technically better in some way, or because there isn’t an audio one that will work (e.g. because the PD needs 48V)?
…and the selection and deployment of Ethernet/streaming cables seems to matter even more with 2 switches, particularly the cable joining those switches.

I received an iPower 12v plug and smps from iFi yesterday for the PlusNet router.
Despite having 6, yes 6 different adaptors on the router end of it, I couldn’t make any of them fit.
Have asked them what they think.
But unless I’m being a div, it will have to go back.
The weird thing is my router power cable end plug looks just like one of the adaptors that came with the iFi iPower smps, but it won’t fit into the socket on the router.
If I can’t find a cleaner way to power it there are other ways forward:
Get an airport express or other better router, and turn off WiFi in the PlusNet router.
Get a fibre optical noise buffer before the 272.
Change to an isp with a less noisy router when my contract expires.
I got an iFi iPower PS which became redundant and I got an adapter off t’internet to fit it to my BT Home Hub as none of the supplied adapters would fit. The big telecoms/ISPs make it difficult to fit another SMPS on purpose as they don’t like fiddlers like us.
You can get an adapter to fit most things. I just bought a pack of em and found one to fit. Dirt cheap too.
What the builder called engineering brick is essentially slag from the local clay pipe works, the last time I had some work done the entire brick shattered. I don’t want to go there again. Why they used it I do not know just about every other wall is pot brick.
It isn’t the length of the cable, the routing, hiding is more than I have the energy or will to do.
That’s a very good ps. It’s what I use on my Roon Nucleus+. I was going to get him to make one for the Cisco/s but the ER is obviously making me curious. Have you compared it with the Cisco?
