FINAL VOTE: UPNP BRIDGE FOR NDS. YES or NO?

Can I ask for a quick point of clarification on the SGC dedicated SonoreUPnP Bridge unit? If it’s connected to the network, would that allow ALL (three in my case) Naim streamers on that network to become endpoints?

I don’t think so but it’s a good point for @Bigboy

Only have one Naim Network player, but the SonoreUPnP Bridge searches the network

for available renderer.

I would imagine a stream from the Roon Core can be directed to an identified renderer. Whether it can support multiple renderera on the same stream or multiple streams, I can’t comment.

Interesting question. I’ll try with a SuperUniti a bit later and see if that works.

thnx @Bigboy

Hi SP, yes I got it from the SGC, took about 1 week to arrive (without UK plug). I use it with the Roon Ipad app which has a tab for Qobuz.

Cool - glad you got sorted

BTW I have had dealings with a ‘Bigboy Makoloma’ who works for Airtel Malawi. This is his real name, and not a handle!

sorted? @Bigboy

Not yet, need to connect the SU, should be done by tomorrow.

any news? @ bigboy

So if I got the SGC dedicated SonoreUPnP Bridge unit like the ones @Bigboy has, would this be able to direct Qobuz files to my 272?

If so, with what app?

From Roon

Ah - ok, so that’s just a way to feed Roon to the 272.

At the moment I’m still looking for a way to do it without Roon.

I think I’ll try plugging my laptop into my PlusNet router tonight and testing whether the Bubble server I installed on the laptop works better when the latop is wired.

Linn App or Audinirvana, with BubbleUpnpServer installed on your server

Cannot find my spare set of speaker cables, must be well hidden.

yes will try Kazoo or Lumin apps again

:joy: it happens

So you can’t stream Qobuz with a Sonore on old streamers without being connected to Roon?
You have to have Roon to stream Qobuz?
I miss something

If you run bubleupnp on a Nas or pc, and add the Sonore to an old streamer, you can stream Qobuz. You don’t need Roon for that. At least what I have understood.

No, but when using the SonoreUPnP Bridge, which presents itself as Roon Endpoint and allows playback from a Roon environment to a Naim Network player through the UPnP input (the Ethernet input), so given that Roon has Qobuz and Tidal integration, this is one solution for marrying internet streaming with local streaming, and having the advantage of the single library, with Roon complimenting your local library with streamed content.
