Firmware update v. 3.7.0

I don’t know if you could try the ‘Media Server’ side by side with Asset or disable Asset and enable ‘Media Server’ to rule out the Asset software ?

It did a reboot on it‘s own. After that, it worked for a couple of minutes but then dropped the network connection (it showed a connection in the display, but was not even pingable), which forced me to reboot manually, by pressing the power button for a few seconds. As said before, it doesn’t happen any more since the replacement of the WiFi access point.

ive been playing with it all morning so far. Ive downloaded minimserver and it still wont skip forward tracks. Its like its only loading one song on a playlist so there is nothing for it to skip forward to.

OK. so if i use my TV as the player, using asset server everything is working fine, i can skip tracks as normal. Ive just factory reset the Atom and it still wont work. Ive had this thing since January and this is now the second firmware update that has caused problems. This is basically unuseable now.

Ive just tried using it on my AV receiver as a media server and again, all works absolutely fine so my initial suspicion that it was asset server causing the issue was wrong and its the actual Atom that isnt working properly

Sorry to hear you are having issues - I strongly advise you contact the Naim support team (support@naimaudio.com), as they can run diagnostics on your Atom and work to get things sorted.

I did yesterday firmware 3.7 …and the sound is good as before no more …but my whiskey is my best upgrade Sound i got …thx

I got now a problem only with Spotify connect on my nd5xs2 with this firmware.
For a song during 3 minutes, there is no sound during ten seconds (from 2 minutes 40 to 2 minutes 50) .
The sound stopping each time 20 seconds before the end of the song.
I cleared Spotify cache on both devices (phone and tab) but the problem is always here (but not on all songs).
Never had problem before this 3.7.0 firmware.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried signing out then signing back in again?

I can confirm another problem with skipping songs, I have two synology NAS systems, one with firmware version 6.xxxx and one with 7.xxxx, on the Atom with firmware 3.7.8 the next song button skips more than one song for both NAS systems, no such problem on my Naim muso QB2 system or on a Windows system with vlc player.

no NAS issues here, on either ND555 or Uniti Nova - both running latest firmware.

Are you running latest version of Naim App? (5.22.1 for iOS; 2.22.1 for Android)?

Also, does the same issue occur when you use your Atom’s remote control or on-unit controls, or just the App?

Yes Richard but no change.

Just a check on the other fundamentals:

Are you running the latest Naim App (5.22.1 for iOS or 2.22.1 for Android?)

Have you restarted your phone/tablet (full power down and back up again?)

After that, I would be looking at a power cycle of the ND5XS2 (unplug from mains, leave for about 30 minutes, then reconnect).

That’s good troubleshooting advice Clare, shall try this, but for me it’s not a major problem as I seldom skip tracks on my NAS music, this was merely to try to replicate the problem of skimminstones!

Thanks. I can’t replicate here - but then I have a QNAP NAS, so maybe it’s a Synology issue

If it was a synology issue then both my tv and av reciever wouldnt work either. Its only the Atom that im having the issue with and the issue has only appeared since the recent update.

Also with the remote the same result, skipping more than it should be, I don’t know how I can skip on the device itself though. No such button I am afraid!

A totally other question, if I have the Naim app open to the Atom, how can I switch to get control of another device such as the muso QB2 ? Haven’t figured that one out yet!

I have only one device but I think this button in the Play Queue?

It’s simple - Click the name of the device that is playing (top centre in App) and you will go back to the Rooms view, where you can see all Naim devices on your network

If you mean how do you link products in multi room set-up, @Suedkiez has handily shown that in screenshot above

Thanks, but that one I knew already, multiroom but not what I had in mind though.

I think my issue is with the naim app. Ive just used the hifi cast app to connect to asset server on my NAS and all is working fine. I can skip tracks, load the jukebox selection and skip tracks on there too. The naim app is the issue here. Hopefully that can be fixed pretty quickly via an update.

Neither the naim app on my phone or chromebook are working whereas my tv and av receiver work fine and now my phone and chromebook are working as they should using the hifi cast app.

This is 100% an issue with the naim app, not the atom, not the synology NAS and not asset media server. Plus using the hifi cast app the naim remote control is now working to skip tracks. Its only using the naim app that any issues occur. im using the most recent version of the naim app on both phone and chromebook
